An electrifying experience with original blues, rock and soul tunes along with electric blues favorites bringing the audience to their feet in joy.
The Hurt Project began in 2012 as a break-away from an up-and-coming classic blues band. Immediately after forming, THP released a studio album of blues standards and completed a ten day tour of the Montana blues circuit where they played various venues, from intimate, 30-person clubs to 2,000-person festivals.
Like so many blues players before them, the band has collaborated with several talented musicians along the way. The list includes one-time bassist for Popa Chubby, Bill Hennessy, Arizona-based jazz singer Holly Hamper, vocalist Kathryn McCreary, currently on the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera, as well as keyboard player John Evans and drummer Paul Wohlmaker, who are featured on the recent singles release, "The Shady Bear Sessions" and many of the live recordings found on our Reverb Nation page.
The band performs regularly throughout New York City (see our Upcoming & Previous Shows page for where THP has played), and was honored to be included in two Hurricane Sandy benefit performances to help rebuild after the storm tore through the city in 2012.
The Hurt Project is dedicated to adding original songs to the blues lexicon, three of which are featured on the August, 2014, singles release, “The Shady Bear Sessions,” available for listening and download here.
Three more original singles are set to be released in 2015--check back for more details on this new studio recording soon!
