This was my first time using GigSalad. I was planning a My Little Pony party for my soon to be 4 year old. I was so excited when I was contacted by Rebecca and she mentioned the idea of a wearable pony balloon and having a fairy Godmother come to do a magic show face painting and balloon twisting (I thought children would have the choice). I talked to Rebecca once, and she also had sent me pictures of her fairy godmother costume. On the day of the party, the woman who showed up was not Rebecca, but a VERY soft spoken lady. She had a hard time keeping the attention of the children (Ages 2-6). You could barely hear her if you were not directly in front of her. After the show, I was left very disappointed - it was quite lack luster. She then moved into the other room to do just balloon twisting. I was told at the beginning I would have to choose. I was fine with this, but disappointed. The balloon twisting seemed to go on forever, and she just made balloons, but not necessarily for the kids. She was not engaging the kids at all. When she was making the birthday girl a balloon she started someone elses balloon before she even finished my daughters and it was left incomplete! I was waiting to until she left to do the cake - and finally when she was done I was told I had to pay extra because she was there longer than the hour. I did not express how upset I was at the time. The next day I emailed Rebecca to let her know, as well as to express my concerns and unhappiness in the service provided. I had been told from the start it was Rebecca who would be coming, but it was not her, and her replacement was not great with kids, not entertaining. I wrote a second letter when I heard no response to the first. I still have yet to hear anything. I was very disappointed with the service provided and could not recommend this entertainer for a children's birthday party by any means. I feel the charge wasn't worth it, never mind the "over time" I had to pay while I was waiting for her to leave! I would at least expect a courtesy email back. I hope I can save another parent's frustration and disappointment.
We hired The Holiday Company in December for our annual tree lighting ceremony. From our first contact with Rebecca from THC, I felt like our event was the top priority. Once the date and details were confirmed, she had the Santa contact me. Speaking with Santa Tom put us even more at ease, this was the first year that we hired a Santa for our event so needless to say it could have gone either way. Rebecca and then Santa Tom talked me through everything and were flexible in terms of entrance and exit and what activities he would do during the event. If you want him to read stories or pose for pictures or just talk to the kids he was game. He even lot the Christmas tree with our Mayor. Santa Tom was a delight to work with, on time (early) and in character from the start. Our kids loved gim, the parents got a great photo op and I was a hero for putting it together and finding the perfect Santa. Next year as soon as the date is decided, The Holiday Company will be my first call and we will budget for Santa, Mrs. Clause and Jolly Jingles the elf. We can not wait! Thank you for a great addition to our event!
