a 3 piece acoustic band: guitar, banjo, mandolin, and harmonica and of course vocals. An eclectic mix of rock, blues and country done in our own unique way. We play a wide variety of covers and some originals sprinkled in when we can. Always upbeat, fun and danceable.
The Growlers played at a fundraising event I planned for a local PreSchool & Child Care Center. Not only was the music great and enjoyed by the crowd, but the guys were incredibly easy to work with. We hope to book them for future events!
Response from The Growlers:
Thank you Melanie, we had a great time that day!

What to Expect
a high energy show that covers a lot of musical ground. Always fun, upbeat and danceable.
all 3 members have been playing in the Burlington VT area and beyond for years. We've played in bands as diverse as Chin Ho!, the Boomflowers, Brotherhood, the Twilight Idols, The Parks dept., The Limit...Matt Vachon sings and plays guitar, banjo, and a little harmonica. Scott Evans plays guitar and sings. Sean Greenwood plays guitar, mandolin and smokin' harmonica.
Additional Booking Notes
we require very little as we are a 3 piece acoustic band. Sometimes we have friends bring percussion kits and/or bass. We usually work this out on a gig by gig basis with the club etc.
we try to do songs people know but not the ones you expect to hear. We do make exceptions, if someone really wants us to play something we can give it a try. We've been know to play Radiohead's "Creep' with banjo, guitar and mandolin. We like to experiment a little and try different arrangements to known songs. As long as it's fun and danceable. We like to slide some original songs into the mix sometimes too.
