What to Expect
We would be performing as a duo. Electric guitar and acoustic-electric guitar plus vocals. Mostly original songs but may do some covers too, story telling and engaging interactions with the audience.
Amber Snider comes from a musical family and has been writing and performing original material since the age of 4. She has performed as a solo artist as well as with The Amber Snider Band in the San Francisco Bay area.
Over the last few years Amber has released a multitude of widely received songs, albums and music videos which includes solo material as well as a self-titled band EP.
Most recently her 2016 album, "Heroes & Heartaches" (again produced by and featuring Gawain Mathews) snagged Amber a prestigious nomination for Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter from the Independent Music Awards. The album is a heartfelt dedication to her late godfather and mentor, Francisco Gallegos. Two songs from the album, "I Will Be True" and the title track "Heroes & Heartaches" have a 1950s-1960s sound paying tribute to her godfather's era. A spring-themed music video was released in the spring of 2017 first to Amber's “In-Sniders Circle” then to the public.
2016 garnished a self-produced/engineered album entitled “A Little Heart”. Inside the mind of Amber, these twelve tracks showcase her unique “Ambericana” style ranging from boogie-woogie wonderful with “Birds of a Feather”, the sparse and intimate soul-searching piano ballad “Free to be Me” and quirky relationship folk-mini-drama “Kung Fu Movie With Fuzzy Subtitles”.
In December 2013 Amber re-recorded-released one of her earlier songs “Should’ve Known Better” as a single. The earlier version appeared on her debut acoustic CD in 2002. The new, fully produced track was later included on her award nominated 2016 album and independently won a Best Folk Song award from The Akadema in the same year. This recording was graced with the likes of musician Gawain Mathews, former guitarist of the Mickey Hart Band, who also produced several projects for Amber. Also featured was Amber’s mother, Diana Wallis on background vocals.
Amber released a holiday single “Let’s Make Christmas” which was originally released as a video for family and friends then made public in November 2013. Gawain Mathews also produced & performed on this original holiday song. “Let’s Make Christmas” captures the essence of what the holiday season means to Amber. Family, friends, celebration; in Amber’s life it represents a happier time, more festive overall.
Amber’s 2012 CD project, “The Amber Snider Band” (produced by Gawain Mathews) was released in 2012 with a plethora of songs, each playing a key role in the overall sound & theme of the entire album. Ranging from ho-down-happy to storytelling-sad, Amber and her band mates delivered a slice of their own lyrically catchy, hook driven proverbial country-pop pie.
Prior releases include Still Dreamin’ and “Napa City Nights LIVE” in 2010, “A Sleep To Dream” (her only label release) and “Acoustic Color” under the name Amber Estrada.
Amber has played top festivals, venues and wineries including BottleRock Napa Valley, has opened for Raw Oyster Cult, Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), Cat Powers, Clink Black and Gretchen Wilson. One of her songs “Chaotic Sanctity” was featured in an Indie Film The Hunting Season with Michael Sorvino in 2011.
Amber has been around music most of her life even briefly working for songwriter/hit-maker Diane Warren in Hollywood as her receptionist and gatekeeper.
