Grant Swift Glidden is the acclaimed vocalist and guitarist of the duo Mac/Glidden. He specializes in covers of classic songs from the 1960's through today, arranged for acoustic guitar and voice, and is available for all types of weddings, celebrations, proposals and other private events. Some versatile amplification and foot pedal magic helps to fill out the sound for medium to large venues. He also works regularly with other fantastic musicians who can always join for a full band experience when your event calls for it! He will gladly travel wherever your next event is being held - expenses for travel beyond a couple hundred miles from NYC will be handled on a case by case basis.
We were so pleased with the performance of Swift Glidden at our fundraiser in October 2016. They were very professional and talented! Everyone loved their set so much, we ended up paying them to stay longer for an additional set! I highly recommend this group, it is a real pleasure to work with Grant.
Grant played for my mom's 80th birthday party and was amazing. So flexible and easy to work with it. Showed up on time, played great tunes mostly from the 50s and 60s as it was an 80th bday party. He also was very polite with some demanding guests and made everyone happy.
Response from Grant Swift Glidden:
Thanks so much Liz and Tom! I had a great time playing for you all.
We loved the music! Plus he's very professional but easy going. All of my guests were impressed and kept asking where we had met him. And a few even asked for his card. We definitely recommend him!
Response from Grant Swift Glidden:
Thanks Lara! It was so much fun to play for you all!
Swift Glidden played guitar to accompany our wedding ceremony in Prospect Park. His music was seamlessly part of the event, using musical transitions to indicate transitions in the ceremony. Procession goes on two times longer than expected? Don't worry, he can flexibly and subtly riff to extend songs or cut songs short.
He was also a huge help in choosing our music selection. While we had specific requests for some parts of the ceremony, we didn't have much of an idea what to do for others. He was able to draw on his extensive musical library to come up with the perfect songs to match the emotions we were going for.
His repertoire includes not only the usual acoustic songs, but a huge library of songs that are far from acoustic guitar in their original forms, which he has adapted into sometimes surprising, clever, and always great sounding music.

What to Expect
An acoustic guitar, some vocal cords, and a few special bits of technology allow Swift Glidden to bring a surprisingly full sound to all kinds of private events, big and small. For those times where extra musicians are needed to turn it up to 11, he can always rely on the addition of a bassist, drummer, extra vocalist, violinist, etc., to fill out the sound to however you see fit for your event. All necessary equipment is provided by Swift himself. Most likely all he'll need from you is a power outlet somewhere in the general vicinity.
Grant (Swift Glidden) was born in NYC and raised in the surrounding suburbs. He sang in church choirs and a cappella groups constantly from the age of 6 onward, and started songwriting with his long-time musical collaborator Andy McCarthy as a teenager. Together they are part of the band/cover band and songwriting partnership Mac/Glidden (also visible on GigSalad!). He started studying music theory and composition in high school, and graduated with a BA in Music from New York's Fordham University. He plays and composes regularly in Brooklyn, New York, where he lives with his girlfriend, and maintains an ever-growing repertoire of uniquely arranged cover songs, for curating events like yours!
