What to Expect from Sunshine Artisan Speaking Engagements: Powerful, Engaging, Entertaining
~Solutionary Thinking: The Real Game Changer
Moving thinking from problem solving--focusing on the problem--into solutionary thinking--focusing on thinking about solutions--drives productivity, engages people and teams, and allows for strengths, talents, and interests to move your organization toward a more global minded community of knowledge workers. Transformational.
~My Climb to NASA: Growing Emotional Intelligence
A single mother of three children, no job, an abusive marriage, homelessness, and tireless elbow grease. My story from a science teacher, to nomination for educator astronaut. I will explain how I looked for values inside my mind, heart, and hands by failing often, and more than once. Empowering.
~What I Learned from my Beach Cruiser Bike
Through my eyes: social justice, compassion, and healing. Take your team to a new level you never thought possible. I can allow your team to start to believe in themselves more, and push forward by changing thought processes based on self-love, volunteering, nurturing, sharing, and caring. Based on cognitive neuroscience. Thought provoking.
~Tailored Talks for Any Audience
I am thrilled to include your specific goals and objectives into my talk, and align them to your current projects, workforce, or culture. I will provide an engaging event through asking provoking questions and seeking answers (either group answers or individual volunteers), asking participants to sing with me by completing the words to appropriate songs, developing knowledge retention with the use of recording each other with the video on their phones. Let me assist you in empowering people!
Lisa Neasbitt is a doctoral candidate in Transformational Leadership. Her dissertation concerns Solutionary Thinking in Transformational Leadership environments. She holds an MEd in Educational Leadership and a BS in Science Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. Lisa is an organic gardener and adjunct psychology professor who lives in Jones Creek, Texas. Lisa enjoys reading, going to the beach to collect seashells, working with animal rescue, making her own kombucha and water kefir, fermenting foods, canning, and cooking.
After many years of science teaching, Lisa joined the NASA Johnson Space Center Human Research Program. Building relationships in government experience, Lisa developed and was awarded several NASA Exploration Systems Mission Directorate grants which were subsequently managed and completed by her. Her work can be seen online in the NASA 21st Century Explorer, which earned Congressional recognition, and in the NASA Fit Explorer which was written for educator in space Barbara Morgan’s maiden voyage and has morphed into the NASA Mission X. Lisa has recently published a collaborative book with the NASA JSC Nutritional Biochemistry team, Space Nutrition, which is available as a free interactive book on iTunes. The episode of The NASA SciFiles, The Case of the Physical Fitness Challenge which Lisa developed can been seen regularly on NASA TV.
Lisa’s experience with culturally diverse populations in school districts across the nation began as a mentor when she joined the National Urban Alliance for Effective Education. Working in elementary, middle, and high schools across the nation, Lisa uses motivational practices to emphasize student strengths and interests by demonstrating to administrators, coaches, teachers, and students “how-to” use culturally responsive teaching strategies to build community. Through her work, student success was elevated as evidenced in comparing quantitative data using test scores and other formative assessments, and offering qualitative surveys before, during, and after the work. An increasing amount of interest in student success initiatives was noted.
Lisa’s interests lie in preparing all knowledge workers and stakeholders to become motivated to work with their passion, strengths, talents, and interests. Using meditation and ‘the power of yet”, Lisa uncovers the personal and overall organizational “why” in objectives, goals, and long-term projects. Her transformational leadership doctoral work with emotional IQ, closing achievement gaps in knowledge workers, organizational development, and solutionary practice has brought her accolades from her dissertation chair.
Additional Booking Notes
My mother used to tell people that I could talk to a tree and be it's best friend by the time our conversation was completed. So, in that light, I really don't need much as far as stage services.
I can pitch on a stage with nothing but a microphone.
Or, I can provide colorful slides if you have a projector. I have my own MacBook, iPad, or iPhone I can connect a projector to. I normally carry my presentations on a flash drive, save them on a cloud, and have them on each of my devises so that technology won't be a challenge.
Influences & Inspiration
I have spoken with Astronauts across the globe. Some are entertaining, others present only facts. I have taken from them the most interesting points.
I was a science teacher for many years, so that may say quite a bit.
As a teacher, I sat through many presentations--either at back to school events, professional development, or end of school talks. I have presented to audiences of administrators, and many, many teachers. The Ah-ha moments with them have influenced my speaking points tremendously. No one wants to sit and listen to someone talk about themselves, nor do they want to think about what they are cooking for dinner that night; wasting valuable time. People want to be engaged, feel motivated, and have the tools to put speaking points into practice. I would say this is my greatest influence.
I would definitely need a microphone. I am used to a hand held mic, a mic stand, a headset, or any other type of voice projecting equipment you have. A small session might not require a microphone unless the room does not have acoustics.
