I am a classically trained violinist with a vast and diverse repertoire, ranging from classical to jazz, from contemporary to celtic. I have a Bachelors of Music from Converse College, and have played professionally for over a decade. If you need a violinist for any reason, whether you want to hire me solo or in addition to another act or group, no nonsense, I'm your girl.
Savannah was awesome and very accommodating to anything I asked. She played beautifully and would highly recommend her!
pleasant, prepared, on time, and talented ... will book again
This talented violinist made our anniversary so special beyond my imagination. Will definitely look to booking her in the future. She is your girl!
Price Range: $100-200 per hour
Gig Length: 60 - 360 minutes
What to Expect
REPERTOIRE: I will play whatever music you want or need. If you already have a set list in mind, just send it to me, and I'll learn it. If you don't, we'll sit down (or talk over the phone) for an hour or however long it takes to determine appropriate repertoire for your event. I'll either send you a recording, or invite you to rehearsal, for final approval of the set.
PERFORMANCE: If you have any specific requests regarding any aspect of my performance, I will do my best to accommodate you. I will wear whatever you request, defaulting to concert black attire. I can perform in nearly any venue, so long as I am not playing on open water- i.e. on the deck of a boat.
I began playing the violin at the age of 2, using the Suzuki method. I trained in Charleston, SC, with Rex Conner, through high school. I attended multiple institutes and camps, including the Brevard Music Institute two years in a row, and won a number of scholarships and awards for my skill on the violin. I attended Converse College, where I studied with Sarah Johnson for four years while obtaining a Bachelor's of Music in Composition. In the meantime, I have started teaching privately, as I have earned my certification as a Suzuki teacher.
Additional Booking Notes
- If your event falls on New Year's, Christmas, Halloween, or Valentine's Day, I will charge extra due to the high demand during those times.
- I will charge for travel time, if your event requires that I drive longer than an hour under normal traffic circumstances. For reference, I live in Charleston, SC. My name is Savannah, but I do not live in Savannah, GA- there has been some confusion about this recently.
- A rush fee of $100 will be charged for any events requested with less than 2 weeks of notice.
DISCOUNTS: I do not regularly give discounts, I'm not a well established business, I am a grad student with bills to pay. I cannot afford to work for free. However, if you plan on hiring me for multiple events on a regular or frequent basis, I might be able to charge a reduced rate, as I would likely not need to learn an entirely new repertoire for each event.
