The SBB band is our trio band - guitar/banjo/bass. Our repertoire includes bluegrass standards, folk rock and their own arrangements of both well-known and re-discovered classics — from Bill Monroe and other blue grass legends to such diverse songwriters as the Beatles, Grateful Dead, Wilco, Avett Brothers — to name only a few.
The ANGRY O'HARAS (five members - includes fiddle/mando) play their instruments with a high-energy style, blending their own arrangements and vocal harmonies into a captivating performance. The AO's are happiest when their audience keeps the beat with their feet and has as much fun as the band.
The Angry O'Haras played at a memorial that I held for my husband, who was a Grateful Dead fan. I hired them sight unseen, and I'm so very glad I did!! If I could rate them with ten stars I would -- they were fantastic -- they totally got the mood of the event and performed in a way that was both bittersweet and uplifting, exactly what I envisioned. Every single person at the event told me how much they loved them. They MADE the memorial. Some details also showed me what nice people they are: they had taken the time to learn a specific song that I requested, they played after the ceremony was over while people were socializing even though that time was not part of our agreement, and Chris wore a Jerry Garcia tie in my husband's honor!! Thank you Angry O'Haras for making an emotional event an memorable and uplifting experience!
It was my music-loving Dad's 80th birthday party for about 30 people. He loves bluegrass and this group (also known as the Angry O'Haras) delivered a first-rate performance with great singing and instrumentals. They are also reliable, generous with their time and nice, with a good sense of humor and fun. I strongly recommend them for an event if spirited bluegrass is what you want.
I could not have made a better decision in hiring the Soggy Basement Boys aka The Angry O'Haras. I was a bit nervous hiring a group on line but we were very pleasantly surprised. Our friends could not believe I found them on line ...... they were that good!
We hired the Soggy Basement Boys for an October 13th pig roast party at our vacation home in Litchfield County, CT. We were initially outdoors where the group played Blue Grass music as requested and they were terrific. Later as the chill outside set in, everyone moved indoors, for drinks, coffee and dessert. The band also came inside and played unplugged music from the 60's, 70's and maybe the 80's. They were so gracious and their music became mellow, personal, and warmed everyone's hearts. All our guests marveled at the command of the different types of music they were capable of entertaining us with. Friends emailed me the following day asking to be put on next year's invitation list if we decided to make this a yearly event!!!
I don't believe the party would have been nearly as much fun without the group.
THEY MADE THE EVENT HAPPEN!! Cannot thank them enough!!!
Wonderful group of individuals that make you smile from beginning to end with great music. Had children to adults dancing as well as participating in a dance or two
