Im never late, have all my own gear and take playing the drums very seriously because it's truly what Ive always loved to do. I perform at my highest abilities every time I sit on the throne. My deep sense of rythym and groove alows me to entertain the audience with beats and fills that come naturally and keep crowds locked in. I learn the material quickly and play it with passion every time. I really get deep into the music I play. I love to play for people whether its an audience of 5 or 500. I offer set breaks and intermissions for the band with entertaining drum solos for any necessary amount of time if requested. Or I can just fill in as a substitute drummer and play the material exactly how the original was written with ease.
I started playing the drums when I was 11 years old. Self taught for a couple years until I joined percussion where I started learning all of the necessary fundamentals and rudiments of playing percussion. I quickly excelled on the drum kit playing for the schools jazz band, winning competitions and awards for best drummer. In high school I played snare on the drum line in the marching band. It was in my early high school years when I really started playing well and performing in talent shows with multiple acts and performing alone doing drum solos. This transition lead me right into playing in serious gigging bands . Rehearsals multiple times a week and gigs every weekend often 2 gigs a weekend. We were able to record several times in a few different studios around town. Though the band has since parted ways I never stopped playing and I never will. Playing the drums is absolutely what I do best.
I usually play LOUDLY so I've never really had the need for anything more than a kick drum mic for me to be heard. However without a PA monitor behind or next to me I may have some difficulty hearing the group. I dont need lights or super tall stage risers or anything fancy. I can play right at ground/stage level, in the dark even.
I'm very much accustomed to playing no matter the venue from back yards to the main stages.
