Elegant, versatile and professional, Simone is available as a solo classical or jazz pianist, as an accordionist, with a small chamber ensemble and more! What draws her out from the crowd is her ability to play an astounding variety of music. Both entertaining and sophisticated, Simone graduated from one of the top conservatories in the country studying classical piano and conducting, and is fluent in the classical, jazz, pop, tango, Brazilian, balkan, klezmer, Italian, French and other international musical traditions. A DC and Baltimore based multigenre pianist, accordionist, conductor, composer, arranger and educator, she has been performing and teaching for more than 15 years.
Our pleasure entirely with Simone Baron, who was phenomenal -- Soothing classical piano for us hosts, including Groom's Parents and Bride's Parents. Lively accordion rendition for Millenial celebrators in garden level. Our favorite moment was a brief tutorial for the Groom's Niece at our grand piano. She should remember that moment -- may influence her future musical adventures! Extra serendipity points for Simone's Oberlin education shared with Bride. Charming original composition by Simone's South American friend was a perfect ending. We wish Simone all success in her musical career, already sing her praises to our friends. Pat and Dave Sims
Response from Simone Baron:
Thank you so so much! I had an amazing time as well and can't wait for the next time! Your piano is absolutely gorgeous.
Simone did a great job playing both planned pieces as well as requested ones! She was very accommodating and very talented! We would certainly hire her again :)
Response from Simone Baron:
Thank you so so much!!! I had a blast as well!
I cannot say enough good things about Simone - she is an excellent pianist, very personable and fun! - she exceeded our expectations - was on time and prepared - I would highly recommend Simone for your event!
Simone was great. She was professional, punctual, and very skilled. Her assistance with our son's performance was greatly appreciated. We will definitely seek her services for future events.
Response from Simone Baron:
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I really appreciated working with both you and your son and look forward to helping out in the future !!! Please let me know if I can help in any way. All the best, Simone
Simone did okay playing traditional Catholic hymns on an organ for a funeral Mass. There were noticeable mistakes. Her price was also quite high compared to other quotes.
Response from Simone Baron:
I'm sorry you feel this way, but with all due respect, we agreed on a price, I was supposed to play a piano, not an organ, got the music the night before, and I was professional and flexible throughout the entire process. The reason you heard a wrong entrance is because halfway through the service, someone working for the church decided that he needed to cue me in addition to the cues we had already decided in the rehearsal immediaely preceeding the ceremony, whispering loudly, which was incredibly distracting and not the correct information. Given that there were multiple sources of cues and a lot of different information and music flying around, I think I did more than OK, and I think that my price was reasonable considering all the curveballs thrown at me. Best of luck.
Simone did a wonderful job helping at a charity gala for Street Sense in downtown Washington D.C. She was incredibly accommodating despite last minute requests and was well liked by all the guests.
Flexible, pleasant and very talented.
Simone played at our daughter's Bat Mitzvah. She did a great job combining both modern and classical pieces and played the accordion as well. We got several positive comments about her playing and her personality. She is great!
Simone is a great musician, and very reliable! For this gig, she played keyboard and accordion on rock and folk tunes, with three other musicians she'd never met before. She was absolutely terrific, including her improvised instrumental interludes. I highly recommend her!
We engaged Simone to play cocktail and dinner hour background piano/keyboard at a party for 50. Initially outdoors in a courtyard setting, Simone later moved indoors to the dining room. She arrived in good time, set up her gear quickly, and performed exactly and professionally the upbeat pop/jazz music we asked for to entertain our guests.
Simone put together a band of musicians that play the most beautiful and fun klezmer music. Her prices are completely reasonable and affordable. She played exactly what I had been expecting from a klezmer band. They are very talented people. The band as a whole makes the party look classy yet fun.
Simone's music elevated our event to another level of class. We look forward to working with her again!
Simone is an extremely talented and gifted musician. She is also very personable and friendly. She recently helped me learn the rhythm, beats, and pace and reviewed in detail each measure of a musical theatre song being used for an audition. She also explained the different and complicated time measures in a way that I could understand. Simone is a person who goes out of her way to ensure that you are entirely comfortable and confident with a piece you are working on. I highly recommend Simone to an actor or singer preparing for any type of vocal performance audition!
Simone's piano concert for our family gathering was beautiful. She is one talented musician! Thank you Simone -- Highly recommended.
Response from Simone Baron:
Thank you so much for reviewing me. I had a wonderful time meeting your parents.
All the best to you and please keep in touch.
My family and I booked Simone Baron for a holiday party. She played piano throughout the night and all of our guests greatly enjoyed the music. She was responsive to the crowd and even took some requests! Our holiday party would not have been the same without her. She was up front about her rate and kept a professional attitude throughout the entire process. There were no surprises and all expectations were met and satisfied. We will definitely be working with her again for future events. Would highly recommend.
Simone was very easy to communicate with leading up to our event. She answered all emails, texts and phone calls promptly.
She arrived to the event early, allowing her ample time to park, find the event location, get unpacked and get warmed up and ready to go.
She started on time, played the songs and styles requested beautifully, and paid attention when we needed her to take a break while someone was speaking.
Simone has an extensive repertoire and was able to a number of Jewish, Chanukkah and Italian songs, exactly as we requested. She roamed the room and the guests really enjoyed the tone that she set for the party.
I would definitely recommend having Simone and her accordion at your next event!
Simone Baron's trio gave an enjoyable and professional performance. The musicians were a very pleasant and highly talented group. I highly encourage anyone to hire them, live music brings a magical addition to any event. They deliver a wonderfully gifted show.
Simone was the music director for our backyard wedding on 8/31/14. Not only did she organize her own amazing band of musicians, but she integrated our musician friends into the festivities with grace and professionalism. She and her band mastered a range of musical styles from klezmer to high opera to bluegrass to jazz and chamber music. It was an event that we and all our friends will never forget. She managed the complexities of the venue, the weather and the varied personnel with aplomb. She has a permanent place in our hearts!

What to Expect
I will work with you to tailor the performance to your needs! Whether it be a wedding, office party, concert, I will provide a set/repertoire list, contract, decide how many musicians are within the budget/needs for the event, and work with you to provide an incredible and engaging experience.
I am classically trained but an adventurous spirit, so while I will jump at the opportunity to play in many different musical situations, I strive to maintain a high level of polished professionalism while engaging the audience with my scintillating stage presence. I hold that true for all the people I play with.
SIMONE BARON is known for her fiery and charismatic presence as well as her innovative programming which spans her own works as well as traditional and modern repertoire. Simone's broad musical appetite has led her to perform internationally throughout Europe, Israel and North America, appearing as a soloist and chamber musician in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall, Targ Hall (Jerusalem), Centro Pitigliani (Rome), Lindlar Klavierfest, the World Bank and Wolf Trap to the LaMama experimental theatre, Twins jazz club and Berlin artist squats. Simone trained classically at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Tel Aviv University's Buchmann School of Music, where she studied piano with Lydia Frumkin, Sanford Margolis, and Emanuel Krasovsky, conducting with Raphael Jimenez and Vag Papian, and later, improvisation and jazz with Jamey Haddad and Peter Dominguez. She has performed with/conducted/arranged for the Oberlin Ravel and Piazzolla Projects, the Oberlin Orchestra, and the String Orchestra of Brooklyn, and founded the high energy Daka Tishim trio, a hybrid world chamber music ensemble consisting of clarinet, cello and accordion/piano featuring her arrangements/compositions as well as perilous treks and impromptu concerts up Italian alps. While still in love as ever with her classical roots, Simone's fascination with the accordion's possibilities have opened the door to beautiful intra-genre collaborations with puppeteers and performance artists, and explorations into the soundscapes of jazz, klezmer, and Brazilian musical traditions. Upcoming engagements this season include appearances at the Strathmore, the Hirshhorn Museum, as well as a classical piano trio residency and east coast concert tour.
Additional Booking Notes
