I am a classically trained cellist and teacher serving both the south suburban and Chicago communities. I perform in symphony, chamber orchestras, and in addition have experience planning music for weddings and various special events. I am an extremely flexible performer and am comfortable playing in pop/rock/alternative genres. I also can perform on electric cello upon request.

Audiences can expect quality music on the day of the performance. A quality performance is ensured by complete transparency by the artist. Expect great communication skills and several correspondences during the planning and leading to the day of the performance. I understand in order to make your event special that we will need to work out a plan and I am happy to accommodate anything that is needed in this entire process.
Ryan Koranda has been privileged to professionally serve the south suburban and Chicagoland regions. He completed his bachelor’s degree in music from Illinois State University where he studied under Dr. Adriana Ransom and received a master’s in cello performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where he studied under Richard Hirschl. An affinity for orchestral and chamber music, he is a cellist with the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra and has also substituted with the Southwest Symphony Orchestra. Koranda has recorded for Electrical Audio in Chicago and was the featured cellist on Rob Ryndak’s album “Gratitude” where Pacific Coast Jazz regarded him as encompassing a “haunting cello sound”. Koranda maintains a quality class of students in which many have found great success participating in the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, the Illinois Philharmonic's Rising Stars, and the IMEA All-State Orchestras.
What is excellent about a cello is you can bring it anywhere and you can play it everywhere. I bring all of my own equipment. The only thing I will need is an adequate space to perform. If amplification is needed for larger situations we can discuss options. Otherwise, I come, I sit, I play!
I bring all my own equipment, I only need enough space to make the music happen :)
