What to Expect
Rosie can offer several 3-6 minute long solo dance pieces, to be booked as individual acts or several in one night. Excellent costuming is strip teased, classic props such as boas and feather fans are expertly twirled, and audiences can come away a little bit in love with Rosie. She can also serve as an ambient entertainer, mingling with guests, lounging on chaises, swaying to music in a side enclave.
Rosie Roche is a Chicago based burlesque performer who's been creating work with a multitude of companies since 2015. Her home stage is the Kiss Kiss Cabaret where she has developed and perfected acts ranging from the most classic styles to subversive and unexpected neo-burlesque. Rosie has become known for her electric audience connection, her comedic prowess, and innovative costuming.
Chicago has been kind to Rosie and she's had the great privilege to be featured in dozens of highly sought-after shows and production companies including Feva Pitch Productions, Windy City Burlesque Fest, Smudged Lipstick Revue, and Chicago Beastwomen. In 2017 She co-produced The Pink Show with Vivi Valens. This show raised $1000 for The Pink Fund, which provides cost of living assistance to those affected by breast cancer. It was also voted a runner-up for best Special Theatrical Event by Broadway World Chciago. This success was made possible by the generosity of the performers, photographers, donors, and the staff at Uptown Underground.
Additional Booking Notes
Rosie can operate on a designated stage with lighting, or generally perform in the midst of the audience, persay in a bar or even on top of the bar itself. Hosting venues must be able to play mp3 tracks through a speaker system for their audience to hear, Rosie will not play music off of her personal phone.
A designated person should arrange to "strike" the stage following a burlesque set, so as to pick up costume pieces left behind.
A designated space must be provided to the performer, so that she may change costumes, wherein NO audience members can enter. Ideally this space would contain a mirror, lights, and a chair. Rosie must be able to access this space at least 30 minutes in advance of her booking time, and she should be allowed to store her personal items and costume pieces in this room safely while she is performing.
If Rosie is booked for ambient entertainment, she must be allowed a 10 minute break following every 20 minutes of performance time.
