Robert W. Oliver is a jazz, new age, and rock keyboardist and composer living in Georgia. He is available as a substitute keyboard player and for weddings and other social events. Robert keeps an active performance schedule as a solo jazz pianist and as the keyboardist for Fineline, a classic rock band from Locust Grove, GA. He also teaches piano and accompanies a local middle school choir. Robert is a member of the American Society of Composers, Artists, and Producers (ASCAP).
Robert Oliver has a style and sound that we thoroughly enjoy whenever we get a chance to see him perform. He evokes the spirit of many of our favorite musicians, if you're not in the mood to tap your toes or get caught up in the moment and dance then you need to stay far away. There's a reason why his music is quite popular with the international online community, he's simply that good.

At the insistence of his parents, Robert began studying piano when he was eight. By the time he was sixteen he had acquired an electric piano, a synthesizer, a TEAC 4-track recorder, and a sound understanding of music theory. Robert spent his after school hours writing songs, experimenting with multitrack recording, and loving every minute of it.
Robert’s first album, Time, Space, and Gasoline, was released online in April, 2008, and was met with wide international acclaim, notably in Europe and Japan. The songs “Sao Paulo” and “Cold December Rain” quickly charted in the Smooth Jazz Top 10 category on (link hidden), with “Cold December Rain” claiming the number one spot for 3 weeks.
Songs of Innocence/Songs of Experience, a collection of instrumental works inspired by the verses of pre-Romantic English poet William Blake, is the scheduled follow-up to Time, Space, and Gasoline. It is due to be released online soon. Robert is currently at work on Beowulf, his latest concept album.
Robert currently plays in On the Cool Side, an Atlanta-based jazz quartet. He accompanied Patti Holiday at the W. C. Handy Jazz Festival in Florence, AL in the summer of 2009, where the duo opened for Eric Essix. Robert has also been very active in the music programs of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Florence, AL and St. Francis of Assisi in Cartersville.
Robert is also available for weddings, session work, and substitutions. For more information, please contact him.
In all of his spare time, Robert teaches English Literature to middle school students. He enjoys reading, listening to a wide variety of music, and collecting vintage musical instruments. His political slant is moderately extreme righto-leftism. Robert likes Monty Python, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Clint Eastwood westerns, Victorian literature, German chocolate cake, and dogs.
Robert is a member of ASCAP and AFM Local 148-462.
