The "Rollin' Solands" (Right Side of the Boat) are mobile musicians. We perform tunes from the Great American Songbook as well as popular classics in the country, folk, gospel, rock and jazz genres.
I'm a singing guitarist who doubles on clarinet while my wife Susan accompanies on light percussion. We also perform as a trio when adding a jazz guitarist (in lieu of using a backing track) to compliment my clarinet instrumentals.
We have performed for a variety of venues in the greater Tucson/Green Valley since 2014 and would love to play for you!
Highly recommend this band for dinner events with light (not loud DJ type) dancing.
Great Communication: Brad answered all my questions promptly, added a requested song to the song list, requested permission to play two specific songs, competitively priced.
Great Music: Excellent music quality by three musicians, set up own equipment on time, played upon guest arrival, allowed me to use mic.
Great Reading the crowd: Kept the songs low key for the audience, took well deserved breaks when convenient for the event (not by the clock), approachable, focused the song list to the people.
Right Side of the Boat was very easy to work with and thoughtful regarding helping me arrange a 80th birthday party for my mother. They were exceedingly flexible and accommodating since our time kept changing and we weren't sure of the venue until the very last few days. All of this was very helpful since we are not local and were planning this surprise party from out of town. My parents loved them, and their rendition of "Crazy" literally brought them to tears.
Response from Right Side of the Boat:
It was a pleasure working with you Lisa. Thank you for this lovely review. We enjoyed ourselves and especially watching your mother, Betty, who looked happy and excited during this milestone celebration! El Charro on North Oracle was an excellent choice and their staff so accommodating with set-up and offering to pay for our meal!
Bradford and his wife were amazing! They play a little bit of everything and they start out with a nice jazzy introduction with the clarinet! Would recommend 100%!
I would like to say "The Right Side of the Boat" plays exceptionally well and my residents look forward to hearing their music and songs once per month. The musicians engage the residents in conversations and ask them how they are doing. We are truly honored to have this great group perform at our facility in making the residents' day much brighter or more joyful.

What to Expect
Sweet to swinging vocal and instrumental music that comes to you. We are mobile musicians dressed in professional black attire that can set up quickly and fit into small places. We bring all of our own equipment for audiences up to 150.
I was born in Omaha, NE. Dad played tenor sax and clarinet. His chops helped him thru college and med school. Our family moved to Tucson in 1955. Tucson was still a cowtown and needed a good surgeon. Dad set up practice and joined TMC's "Doctors Band". I loved listening to their music and started lessons on clarinet.
Susan and I courted in high school (PVHS). I played in the marching and jazz bands and she was a song leader. We fell in love. It was the 60's and like many kids my age I learned guitar and played in some small rock groups. In 1966 I left Tucson to attend Northern AZ University. I joined the NAU band, majored in Psychology and immersed myself in their guitar picking folk scene.
After graduation, Susan and I married and settled in Flagstaff. We worked various jobs and I had fun playing at night in a folk/rock group called Dark Horse. After a couple of years we moved permanently to Tucson. I began my life-long career at Tucson Federal Credit Union and we started a family.
Now, in a new chapter of our lives, we are enjoying making music in our community.
