At Qubic Metre, we are passionate about acoustic covers. While we take great pride in our original music, some of which can be found in the player on our website, we love to take a rock song and make it our own.
Our formula is simple: acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, a small drum set with brushes, and voice. We hope you love listening to our music as much as we love playing it!

We are three enthusiastic music lovers. Expect crowd interaction. No, we will probably not pull people on stage, but jokes and light hearted humor abound. We're smart guys and we know that the key to the crowd having fun is our having fun. You will never catch us on a bad day. We're always happy with instruments at the ready and great tunes to share with eager fans.
Qubic Metre stems from an afternoon jam session between Tim Schilke, with his voice and acoustic guitar, and Rob Ratayczak with his drum kit. It was natural from the start and clear that something was possible here.
The very next week at lunch, Rob shared his fantastic experience with John Lyons, the best bass player Rob knows. John was immediately all in and Qubic Metre was formed.
We're geeks. If you have a dedicated sound guy (say, for your festival), we'll stand back and take direction, but our natural position is up front, solving audio and lighting problems. The band wants to sound great and has the experience to adjust our amplifiers to ensure that we are neither too loud for the room or too quiet for the audience. We take this seriously. It's not because we have to, but because we love what we do!

We are heavily influenced by many talented artists. Start with Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, and most Seattle grunge. Add to that a little bit of Johnny Cash, Father John Misty, and James Taylor and you have a classic connection between Rock and Folk Rock.
