What to Expect
If you're looking to open the conversation of personal finance with a group of people, employees, students, retirees, or anyone else, you can expect to see a fun, up-to-date, very educated speaker. With Scott's experience with speaking in front of large groups and also meeting with people individually, he has learned to really understand why people make certain money decisions and how to help them change behavior and start achieving their goals for the future.
Scott's passion for personal finance began at a young age after financial hardship hit his family. His parents separated when he was eight leaving his mother to raise five children on her own. His mother's desire to read personal finance books and learn from other people rubbed off on Scott as she strove to create a future for the family. In high school, Scott took second place in a Financial Literacy video in the Utah film festival. He knew that helping people with their finances is what he wanted to do for his career so he could help people avoid the consequences that come from bad money choices.
Scott graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Administration/Finance. While in college he excelled by becoming certified as an Accredited Financial Counselor through AFCPE, a certification that took much time and effort. He has had the opportunity to speak with all different groups of students from incoming freshman to law and medical students, as well as the football team. Not only does he present to the students but he sits down with students one on one and helps them understand their complete financial picture.
He and his lovely wife have been married for three years which he says has brought him the most fulfillment in his life. They plan to move to Texas to pursue their dreams of owning a beautiful home and continue his business and education.
