Paul Waters & The Lonesome Tears are a 3 piece Rockabilly band.
Paul Waters, originally from Lubbock Texas, fell in love at an early age with the music of Buddy Holly. It didn't take long before the Rockabilly sound became his passion. In his teen years he had the privilege of meeting some of the family and friends of Buddy Holly, Buddy's mother even sang harmonies with him on the song "Maybe Baby" in a barber shop in his home town of Lubbock. Paul set out ...to live his dream of being a professional musician. He wound up in Davenport IA where he met two like minded musicians. They were soon traveling the country playing to packed houses and sharing the stage with well known performers like The Everly Brothers, Bo Diddley, The Crickets, Del Shannon, Chubby Checker, Bobby Vee, and many others. The band grew tired of life on the road, and for sanity's sake parted ways in 1989. Now after more than twenty years apart, Paul, along with bassist Butch Karn and new found drummer, Brian Smith, are back at again. They haven't lost a thing over the years, in fact many are saying that they sound better than ever. What they bring is a brand of music that will have you out on the dance floor, falling in love with the music that started this crazy thing they call Rock and Roll.
Stage must be large enough to accommodate the band and equipment.
Our set list covers the years of 1955 to about 1959, the great years of Rockabilly. We have nearly 75 songs at this time that we are able to do.
