The Paul Elwood Trio, based in central New Jersey, provides a tasteful musical backdrop for cocktails and dinner and perhaps some after dinner dancing as well. Whether you are getting married, hosting an event or throwing a private party, your guests will enjoy the music! Our repertoire includes jazz standards from the Great American Songbook along with some Spanish tunes, and an eclectic mix of classic and current popular, blues and rock tunes. We perform for all types of events including wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, holiday parties, fundraising & club events, festivals, art openings, restaurants, wineries and special private occasions, inside or out. We are a fun group consisting of guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals. We are also available as duo, quartet or five-piece band. We will play appropriate songs and at the right volume level to suit your event and we are happy to work with a DJ to provide continuous non-stop entertainment.
Paul Elwood, guitar, harmonica & vocals: An avid player and teacher, Paul plays electric, acoustic and classical guitar, ukulele and harmonica. He is fond of creating his own finger-style guitar pieces. He is influenced primarily by his own teacher John LaGreca and currently attending the Berklee school of music as a full-time student.
Enrique Casanovas, bass & Vocals: Enrique has been playing guitar/bass for over 50 years. He started playing after seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show and the rest, as they say, is history. Enrique has recorded & produced 5 albums of Christian music and he also plays bass for his church’s Sunday worship team.
Patrick Kerssen, Keyboard & Vocals: Patrick is a recent graduate of the Moravian College music education program. He specializes in jazz piano, with primary influences including Gene Harris, Ray Charles, and Bobby Timmons, among others. Patrick is an avid writer and arranger of big band music, has had his music performed by big bands in Pennsylvania and the Czech Republic, and was fortunate to record on the Prague based ARTA label with a big band in 2016. He has had the pleasure of performing with many of the top jazz musicians on the Lehigh Valley, Pocono, and Philadelphia area music scenes.
