is the nations number 1 Jimmy Buffett tribute act. The band has been together for ten years with the original basic core rhythm section. This quintet of seasoned musicians hails from Dayton Ohio, The band is a stunning rendition of Jimmy Buffett and the coral reefer band. This is one band that delivers every time.
We have been following the Parrots every summer for at least 8 years. They are so much fun, and the lead singer does sound a lot like JB. We Cincinnati parrotheads dress for the Caribbean & have a great time! Can't wait to see them tomorrow night!
i recently seen the parrots of the caribbean at the rialto theater in joliet illinois.
i am a huge jimmy buffett fan and as soon as i heard the first song,i knew my time and money were well spent,if you closed your eyes you would think jimmy was in the house.
the show was upbeat and fun,the party atmosphere was nothing short of being at a jimmy buffett concert, the luau party thrown by the rialto theater was an amazing experience it was just like being in the parking lot tailgating at a jimmy buffett show.
the conga lines were non stop with Hawaiian shirted parrotheads partying the night away.
the band created a great jimmy buffett atmosphere, everyone in the audience embraced the same fun state of mind.
it was a non stop party from the strum of the first song to the encore which included an explosive rendition of cheeseburger in paradise.
this is a group of well seasoned musicians all the way from the great drummer whom covered the parts of a drummer and several percussionist all on his own,the lead guitarist was nothing less than incredible with great stage presence, the keyboardist was exceptional,i would compare him to the great paul shafor, the bassist was very well seasoned and one of the best i have ever seen anywhere, the lead singer sounded just like jimmy buffett and struck a very striking resemblance to jimmy himself, his costumes were very entertaining and creative.
this was one of the greatest jimmy buffett experiences that i have ever experienced, and i would pay top dollar to see this act again.
great show, great stage presence and amazing musicians
they do jimmy just as good as jimmy if not better.
The Rialto Square Theatre was jumpin' on Sat., Feb. 23rd. I and hundreds of other folks (as it was Sold-Out) were having a Ball... literally & figuratively! The band the “Parrots of the Caribbean” were Great Fun! The audience was Cheering & Applauding, Singing & Dancing, the Beach Balls were flying everywhere, and I lost count of the number of Conga Lines that got started throughout the evening. The Conga lines went up every isle & at one time even had double lines that passed by one another down the isles. Everyone was Smiling, Singing along, Dancing & Hi-five-ing as they passed.
The lead singer of the band, Dave, was very engaging with the crowd & he sounded like Jimmy! His Antics & Costumes which are Famous & Infamous - including his "Riding Nemo" shorts - brought Fun & Levity to the night... well, that & the crazy helpers in the Shark & Parrot suits - they were the hit for many, in lots of photo shoots.
And I was truly touched by the song Dave did for his Mom, who was in the hospital... really sweet!!
The evening was a BLAST!! The band was even having so much fun with the crowd… that they played 1/2 hour longer than they were scheduled! As I said... almost Everyone had a Great Time!
Thank You Parrots of the Caribbean & Thank You Rialto Theatre for a Wonderful All-Inclusive P-A-R-T-Y!!!
Thanks too to the Rialto's Staff & Security, they were exceptionally nice, helpful, and even the Security staff was jovial as they kept the Conga lines flowing!
p.s. I guess I missed whoever the person was that came up to the mic from back stage, so I can't respond to that... but the Band was Very Enjoyable!
Saw these guys this past Saturday and the amazing Rialo Theater in Joliet, IL. The show was horrendous. I though (hoped) I had seen the worst right off the bat with the tacky captains outfit, and the awkward, way overdone hand gestures while singing EVERY song, but, no, it got worse. Besides the lack of any kind of stage decor, the band looks like a bunch of hicks. The guitar player looks like Billy the Exterminator, and at one time, his "dance moves" looked like he was dry humping his guitar. But wait, there's more. One of the costume changes of the lead singer was a shirt with fish tails coming out of the back and fish heads sticking out of the front. We thought they were supposed to be sharks, so I went up front for a closer look and some pictures. They actually looked like trout. Why would he wear a shirt with big trout heads sticking out? Hideous!!! Just when I thing it can't get any worse, during yet another costume change (into a big cheeseburger), some redneck with a lip full of chew (looked like half of a can of chew) comes out to the mic to start asking everyone was ready for a cheeseburger. It was actually described as appalling by the woman in the second row. Don't waste a penny on these guys. Double my money back wouldn't make me feel any better about wasting 3 hours of my life with them.
