Panessence operates as a solo or duo act offering the true sounds of the Caribbean from an artist that grew up in Trinidad, then moved to Seattle and played on the road for over a decade. The music offers a unique take on familiar songs. You'll hear favorite artists like Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffet, along with traditional tunes that are fun to sway along with, or get up and dance too. Robert is a true artist and engaging to watch as he brings the crowd to their feet. Watch samples of his sweet sounds by going to the band's name, panessence, followed by a familiar com-ending.
Price Range: $200 and up.
Gig Length: 30 - 240 minutes
What to Expect
If you are listening to one of my performances, you would be feeling the island rhythm and soothing melodies only a steel drum can bring. During the performance, you may feel inclined to get up on your feet and move along with the music.
Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Seattle has been my second home for many years. I started playing steel drums on my own and have been involved in many different bands over the years. Playing solo or duet, my music spans from classic Soca and Calypso to all other genres. When I'm not on my pans, I enjoy boating on Lake Washington and Puget Sound.

Influences & Inspiration
I've been very fortunate to meet many inspirational pan Masters, including Len "Boogsie" Sharp, who is one of the many pan players and music arrangers that brings great music into the arena of the annual Trinidad and Tobago's Panorama. He inspires the world and myself to play the best steel drum music.
