Show includes puppet theater, storytelling, magic tricks, audience participation, games with prizes, live music, and much more. Once Upon A Dragon Time can be performed in any location.
The show begins with live music performed by myself and Lady Sonya; followed by puppet theater and stories, then it is on to some silly magic tricks, games with prizes, more puppets and stories, and ending with audience participation.
The show was cute. They filled a full hour and the kids got to participate.
One Upon a Dragon Time was great! We did a free event for our community and found Robert and Sonya - the show was incredible, and the kids LOVED it. You can tell they are passionate about what they do. I would recommend them for any event.
I watched his show and talked to him a bit afterwards at the Renissance Faire in Fishers, Indiana, and I think he's great. He was very funny and super friendly. The kids love him, and he's full of awesome stories for child and adult alike, both personal, and mythological. If you want to see your child, and even adults smile, this is your guy.

Naga, a Chinese dragon shows his talents as a drummer, only It all goes wrong as he gets silly. Then a short puppet theater story. Then more puppet theater followed by the introduction of Nidi (a very cute, but obnoxious dragon) who helps tell stories, showing off his magical abilities, and causing general chaos for myself and my assistant. On to a touch of historical information about Medieval childhood, including the games and toys they played with. It's audience participation time with a story or a game that includes prizes for all, finally a puppet theater story or a Medieval melodrama with the audience as the actors. I do a passable job of ventriloquism and all the dragon puppets are interactive with myself and my assistant. We are costumed and do our best to keep the entire show light with child-like humor. After closing, we allow a period of time where the children can come forward, receive a gift, and get a chance to play with the puppets. The entire show lasts up to one hour.
I am a grandfather, musician, retired teacher, and entertainer that has been performing and bringing joy to the young and young at heart for over 55 years. My current show has been a staple at Renaissance Fairs for the past 11 years. I do schools, libraries, festivals, birthday parties, or wherever children may gather. Besides storytelling, puppetry, and simple magic, games with prizes, audience participation, and a little music, I have put together a show with my partner, Sonya, that is fun and informative for all.
I was born in North Carolina, now living in Kentucky, but I have lived in 13 foreign countries and 33 of the states. The staging requires 1 hour to set up, 1/2 hour to take down. The show can be performed in any location. My assistant, a wonderful entertainer in her own right, travels with Once Upon A Dragon Time to help add stories, humor, music, and much more. Hope to see you soon.
Show includes backdrop:15'wide x 6'deep x 8'high castle motif, Sound system with lapel microphones, and various other stage props.
