Funny, fun and super-musical, Ilene Weiss (aka Noodle) is a Big Apple Circus vet with a ton of family-friendly songs. She has "...charm that's both heart-warming and hysterical!" Might be a magic trick thrown in, or a puppet making an appearance. Mostly, kids (and grownups) can join in to create a joyous sing-a-long bash! Fanciful face painting or a bit of balloon twisting is also available.
Sensitivity to special needs/requests.
Original songs & popular favorites, from kids' classics to Beatles to Beyonce to You-Ask-For-It.
Freestyle rapping (!)
Tons of experience with kids and adults at gatherings large and small: birthday/holiday parties, schools, camps, corporate
Ilene / Noodle did such wonderful job of connecting with her disparate audience members and of adapting gracefully to the circumstances. When the kids couldn't settle down to listen as a group (the playroom was too big, too full of delightful things to climb on), she transformed herself into a roving musician. When she couldn't remember all the lyrics of song, she improvised, coming up with wonderful, witty rhymes spontaneously (poetry slam style). She's full of fun, truly comfortable with children and grownups -- in a word: brilliant. We won't hesitate to recommend her to everyone!
Noodle was amazing! The kids were literally rolling on the floor they were laughing so hard and the adults were not chatting bc they were watching her too, she is hilarious and very musically gifted! She was also very skilled at seeing exactly what the kids seemed to respond to. She was not at all scary but very warm and gentle while also being just sooo funny! I would love any excuse to hire her again. She was also very professional and clear about the details, on time and a pleasure to correspond with.
I'd recommend her to anyone.
I hired Noodle to sing at my daughter's 3rd birthday party. Noodle arrived on time and she had the kids' attention at the first song. The kids were engaged the entire time - she is funny and entertaining. Noodle is also very easy to work with. I highly recommend her services and would hire Noodle again.
We hired Noodle for our 2 year old girl's birthday party, and were very happy with everything about her. I particularly liked how she immersed herself among the guests and engaged with individual children directly, instead of opting for the somewhat artificial audience-performer dynamic that grown-ups are used to. She was able to really get kids to sing along and improvise in a way that's ideal for that age (the kids ranged in age from 0-7, and all seemed to enjoy it).
We sent her a list of some of our kids favorite songs, and she had learned quite a few of them, as well as taking requested songs at the party. She's also got a knack for changing the lyrics of a song on the spot in funny ways that make the song more relevant to the occasion, or to a particular child. She's generally great at making kids laugh and enjoy music!
Noodle came yesterday for 1 hour for my daughter's second birthday. She was so great! All the kids had a great time and were following her around and dancing. The adults were also laughing the whole time at her improv lyrics to the songs she sang. Very energetic and entertaining for all. Several other parents asked me for her info before the party was over as well. I highly recommend!
Noodle was amazing.. she has a great voice and is a natural entertainer. It was my son's second birthday party and he loves his rhymes. Noodle kept him entertained and she engaged with the other kids and adults too. We had noodle for an hour and wished we could have her longer.
I highly recommend Noodle Doodle for your parties :)
Noodle performed for my 3 year old son's birthday, she had the kids laughing and engaged even when they didn't want to be. She circled the room collecting the kids up and entertaining them. When I told her it was a Paw Patrol themed party she learned all the theme song and was great at adjusting her act to what he loved and his age group. She was all around great!! Can't recommend someone more
Noodle performed at our son's 4th birthday party. Overall it was a wonderful experience. As a basic matter, Noodle was on time and she performed for the full amount of time we hired her for. More than that, Noodle gave her all to her performance. Our party was outside and she moved with the kids as they ran from place to place around our backyard. She was able to keep their attention well once we got them all seated and multiple parents approached me during the party to comment about how great they thought she is and how impressed they were. Noodle is really terrific and we are so glad she could celebrate with us.
Noodle really helped make my daughter's first birthday party a success. She kept the little ones entertained with her fun songs, instruments and props. She even had the adults grooving and dancing with her remixes of popular children's songs, freestyle raps and even a few of today's pop hit songs. Everyone loved her!
We had Noodle over for a birthday party populated with four-year olds, and she delivered first-rate entertainment that went far beyond just meeting our expectations.
For the entire event, she locked herself in character, creating an environment that perfectly captured four-year-old attention spans -- and kept everyone (including the parents) smiling from start to finish. This performer is always "on", and on "full power". Her uncanny improvisational talents, which combined with a seemingly natural energy level, had the children completely engaged for about an hour and a half.
Perhaps just as impressive is her ability to do all this without dominating the event. She is in the foreground, but not overbearing. It's a balance that must be very difficult to achieve, but she did it exquisitely.
And yes, she is also an outstanding musician, as she seemed to effortlessly convert anything into a song -- and with on-the-spot lyrics (that rhyme).
This is clearly someone who must love her work. There is no way that one could otherwise achieve this level of ability and professionalism.
After I put in my request in gigsalad for several entertainers for my son's first birthday party, Noodle was the first one to quickly respond only a few hours later! She informed me that she does face-painting, balloon twisting, but her main forte was singing and playing the guitar for small children, as that's her main job, cheering up kids in hospitals. I was amazed and after speaking with her felt confident that she was the one we should go with especially because she played the guitar which my son loves. I spoke with a few others but they didn't have the professionalism and je ne sais quoi so to say that Noodle had. I reached out to her to let her know we would love to book her and she was thrilled. What really sealed the deal for us was that she had inquired if there were any particular theme or song that my son liked and when I mentioned Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, a show on PBS, she right away told us she wasn't aware of it but she would learn it and love to sing it for him! Communication was excellent even up to the day of the party. Noodle arrived early and started singing and playing the guitar with all the children. She was so good with my son and one of his friend's who kept wanting to touch and take her guitar (their obsessed with it). She even captured the adults attention with her great free-style/rap on the classic nursery/children's songs and had everyone laughing. She did some great face painting on the children and even made sure to sing happy birthday to my son "Daniel Tiger" style before she left (which was awesome). The parents and kids were raving about her and thought she did a wonderful job, as did we! We will definitely be having Noodle back for future birthday parties and highly recommend her for children's parties. She was an absolute delight!
My two year old hates loud noises and crowded locations so we decided to have a birthday party for him at home with only family members. To make it a bit special for him, I wanted to get an entertainer to sing his favorite nursery rhymes. I wrote to a few people on Gig salad and Noodle/Ilene was the first to respond. She gave me a fair price and was very pleasant to deal with. After booking her, all the communication with her would get a prompt and efficient response. On the day of the party she came on time, proceeded to do her act and was very professional. My kid is a bit shy so Noodle/Ilene let him take his time to warm up to her, chatting and singing with the other kids at the party before he was ready. We absolutely loved her, even the adults got in on the fun. I will definitely reach out to her again for my future events.
Noodle was engaging, dynamic, lots of fun, and superb entertainment for children and adults of all ages at our daughter's bat mitzvah luncheon. She read the room perfectly and had those of us who wanted to participate laughing and dancing. She was especially wonderful with the kids age 3-5.

"NOODLE" is Ilene Weiss' alter ego as a "family friendly" musical goofball. Music, humor and interactive responsiveness are Noodle's primary skill set.
She has a couple of other skills that can be offered for kids’ parties: face/hand painting, moments of magic a bit of balloon twisting. Primarily, Ilene-as-Noodle is an exceptionally solid songstress, skilled and sensitive to the diverse spectrum of kids’ (and people-in-general's) tastes, behaviors, moods and personalities.
