What to Expect
They should expect a great show and not just music being played, but entertainment too. I make sure to interact with the crowd and have fun throughout the whole performance. I will be moving around a lot and showing off how much fun I'm having on stage. My set list will be different every time I hit the stage because I am always making new music. I don't have much of a set up, just something to play music off of which will be my laptop. However much time I am given to perform, I will do. It could be one song or it could be an hour and a half, I will do anything. I bring a lot of energy to the stage and I try to make people notice what I have in me and everything that I can do. I will put on a show like you have never seen before.
Noah Jon Panagia who is known by the name of ‘Noah Jon’ was Born September 19th, 1996, in Oradell, New Jersey. When he was 3 years old he moved to Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, a small upper class town. The ‘Rich’ and the ‘Not so Rich’ sides categorize Woodcliff Lake. Noah Jon lives on the less wealthy side. He lives with a family of four, including his father Jess, mother Lisa, and his twin sister Lindsay. Another very close family member is his cousin Casey, she is basically like another sister and he has spent a lot of time with her throughout his whole life.
It was a journey to finally come up with the name of ‘Noah Jon’. He spent a few years going by the name of ‘N-Sane’ and came out with his only two mixtapes under that name. Those mixtapes were ‘Picture Me’ (2012) and ‘N-Sanosylum’ (2013). Those mixtapes do not portray Noah Jon’s ability in rapping today except for a few songs on ‘N-Sanosylum’. Noah Jon then went to the name of ‘NRG’ standing for ‘Energy’ and “Noah, The Rap Guru”. Noah Jon has reached over 7,000 total views on youtube, doing it all independently.
Panagia started writing song lyrics at the age of 7, but of course those weren’t the best of lyrics. Noah Jon started writing after he heard his first Hip Hop song, which was ‘Roses’ By Outkast. That would be the only song he had listened to for such a long time including the rest of the album. His mother isn’t a huge fan of the Hip Hop genre and wouldn’t let him listen to that much rap music, but that wouldn’t hold him back from sneaking in some listens. Panagia would say that his life changed when he heard Eminem for the first time. The first Eminem song he heard was ‘Just Lose It’. He would often sing along to it with his father because they both loved the song. After discovering Eminem, he started to take the art of Hip Hop a little more serious. Around the age of 10 he would perform holiday raps for his family on holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays. He and his cousin Casey wrote these raps. They formed their own little group calling themselves ‘N2C’.
Panagia would start taking rap serious after Eminem came out with his album Recovery. After hearing that album, he just wanted to be like Eminem. When he was 12 he started writing more lyrics but wouldn’t frequently record them over anything. His friend Adrian Rojas would start rapping with him and they recorded their first song together on Noah Jon’s iMac computer. Nobody but themselves and a couple of close friends have heard the song. Panagia and Rojas would start writing and recording more and they did that almost everyday in the summer of 2011. They came out with a low quality mixtape called ‘Remember Me’. Nobody except Panagia and Rojas have access to that mixtape. After making that, they made their group name ‘Nasty’ and then made a youtube account called ‘FreshPoint21’. After that they joined a competition held by the producer Dansonn Beats. The rules were that Dansonn determined 1st and 2nd place and the third place winner was the video with the most likes and it happened to be Nasty taking that spot. That competition was significant for Panagia because he gained many fans and met two very important people in his life through that competition. He met a rapper named Adrian Swar AKA Bentley and another emcee named Andrew Gephart AKA 2Brain. Those two artists are very close friends of Noah Jon still today.
Aside from making the music, Panagia was frequently bullied in school for making Hip Hop music being from a nice suburbs area. Noah Jon has had many positive comments and many negative comments on his music. His first job was at Dairy Queen and his ex-boss would tell him how he did nothing with his life and that he would never make it as a music artist. Panagia’s mother refuses to listen to his music because of the foul language he uses in his lyrics. Him and his mother don’t necessarily get along all of the time, which is a big inspiration for Panagia in his lyrics.
Some artists that influence Noah Jon are Hopsin, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. People would compare Noah Jon to Hopsin or Drake because of his lyrical ability and how he maintains people’s interest in his songs. Panagia rarely listens to any other genre of music but rap, playing it in his earphones all day throughout school and at home. The reason he listens to rap dominantly everyday is because he studies every artist’s techniques and incorporates them all into his tracks. Noah Jon would call himself a product of different emcees all together. Noah Jon has caught a lot of local attention frequently known wherever he goes in town. Panagia has been a part of Philly Underground Entertainment and has been on an internet radio station many times, winning a cypher competition hosted by the radio host, Alex Catrambone. Catrambone is a part of Noah Jon’s movement and tries to spread his music around Philadelphia, having many people call Panagia the ‘Mini-Hopsin’.
Noah Jon is known for wearing blue-eyed color contacts and wearing biker gloves while performing. He does those two things to set himself aside from other artists. When Noah Jon records he likes to record with stuffed animals on the microphone stand. The reason he does that is to portray the image that he is immature and a kid forever in most of his lyrics. As an artist, Panagia wants to help people through music, he wants to be the person people listen to when they are having a bad day. He loves all of his fans and treats them with respect. Now he is on his quest to fame.
