Our backyard wedding was August 22nd, in Salinas. We hired NPD staff- 2 bartenders, 6 waiters, 1 scullery. We are reaching out to express grave concern and upset with our experience.
Our engagement was 1 year and 2 months. I reached out to Night & Day staff through their website 3 times within the months of September 2014, November 2014 & January 2015. There was no response. My fiance at the time finally reached contact in February 2015 and scheduled a time with Erin Alvarez who was utmost helpful!
We finally began a running invoice and deposit was received.
On the 21st of April, I received an email from the website regarding if we still needed services. This was AFTER our invoice and deposit was received. We had to then confirm back that we had a standing order. Jennifer Miranda confirmed this and was also very helpful.
One month before we made our final additions and subtractions and the stamp that was on our final invoice was for 2 months after the wedding date.
-The head staff woman, Laura, was beyond rude and unfriendly. She was unprofessional in the way she spoke to the family and short in responses. For example, we confirmed that she was supposed to take the trash at the end of the evening and she responded very rudely with, "unfortunately, yes". Very rude and showed poor behavior when trying to figure out how to take the trash when she saw the invoice that stated we paid for it. She made snarky comments and made folks feel uncomfortable.
-I was informed in the beginning of the evening that NPD did not bring ANY ice. Not only did we pay for the ice in the dry bar, we have copies of communication with Jennifer Miranda on July 14th at 8:40am that she added 100 extra pounds of ice to fill the tubs and accommodate beverage stations.
-The mason jars were the only jars that were supposed to be washed with a cleaning agent. I bought a bottle of soap, 5 towels and 4 large sponges for the scullery. I had a post-it on the box where the jars were to be placed back after a wash. After coming back the next day, we found 26 of the 130 that hadn't even been touched and were deep at the bottom of the last bin.
-At the end of the evening, there were all 6 waiters and both bartenders standing behind the bar looking bored when there was much clean up to be done. It states in our final invoice that the scullery was in charge of organizing the rentals. This was not fully done.
-At the end of the evening, there was supposed to be trash removal. Once again, NPD staff stated they did not have to do this. I had the invoice that stated we paid for it. The next day my husband and I took 7 bags of trash to the dump which was 40 minutes from the site. We have pictures of some of the bags sitting in the driveway. We expected a FULL refund of the $200 as we paid for the trash removal that wasn't fully removed.
We never received a refund.
We want to make sure it is known that the staff, not including the head staff woman Laura, handled themselves very well. They were kind and well behaved.
I wouldn't recommend this company as there was just too many bumps and who needs that when planning a large event?
