If you were to hire me as a trombonist for your event, masterclass, lesson or chamber music group you can expect a player who has the ability to blend with any ensemble and has the experience to play in many different musical styles. I pride myself as a musician who always arrives prepared, ready to contribute to any event with a great sound and positive attitude. I do not think of myself as a typical trombonist who only knows how to play loud. In fact, it takes much more talent to play at a soft dynamic with a beautiful sound. I hope that you will consider me for all of your trombonistic needs!!
-Nicholas is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania (B.M. Music Performance) and Arizona State University (M.M. Music Performance). He studied with Haim Avitsur and Douglas Yeo respectively.
-While at WCU Nicholas performed with the West Chester University Wind Ensemble under the direction of Andrew Yozviak and articipated in the recording of three commercial CD’s: “Shadow Catcher: American Music for Winds, Brass, and Percussion” on MSR Classics, “Rites” on Mark Records and “Borrowed Inspirations” on Mark Records.
-In the winter of 2011, he toured China with the Camerata Philadelphia and members of both the Washington National Opera and Baltimore Opera Chorus under the direction of Zvonimir Hacko.
- He has participated in many master classes. Some of them include Ron Barron of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (retired), Bruce Tychinski of Delaware University, Joseph Alessi of the New York Philharmonic, Randall Hawes of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Gerry Pagano of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Michael Becker of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and John Sebastian Vera of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra.
-Douglas Yeo, former bass trombonist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra has had a profound effect on my musical life. He made a musician who plays the trombone instead of a trombonist.
-Many people have influenced my life both musically and personally and they have all shaped who I am today.
