They are our House Band!

MJP has been our House Band for the past 3 years, playing for two fundraising events per year, and sometimes at other, smaller events. Bandleader Tom Towle is professional, easy to work with, and gives us a very generous non-profit rate for their services. Musically, they are first-rate, and they have been wonderfully adaptable in coming up with music to fit the themes of our events.

Great musicians, great guys!

Montecito Jazz provided the music for the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards, presented by the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Foundation, for the past two years, and they were great. As we celebrated high school and SBCC student entrepreneurs for winning the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship's New Venture Challenge as well as eight of Santa Barbara's outstanding women entrepreneurs, they provided just the right music for each part of the evening. We plan to have them play again at our 2013 Awards on May 10.

Great Tunes!

MJP played at our organization's holiday party at La Cumbre CC in December. They were terrific! They were extremely easy to work with, arrived early to set up, were prompt, and worked us on exactly what kind of music, etc. we wanted. Great guys, great music! We would definitely hire them again.

Montecito Jazz Project

The Montecito Jazz Project began as a collaboration between Drummer Tom Ray and Bass Player Tom Towle in 2005. Soon Saxophonist Jeff Regan joined in and added blistering solos and Guitarist Mark Coffin showed up and brought his own guitar stylings, providing perfect complementary accompaniment and tasty soloing. The quartet then went into the studio and made recordings for demos.

With every change of venue, the combo may feature a different set of gifted musicians, as Santa Barbara's Jazz Underground has a good-sized pool of talent. From time to time, other configurations of the group morph to form various sounds.

Recently, trumpeter Lee Neuenschwander, flute players Carmen Kuchera, Suzanne Duffy, George DeFillippo and pianists John Leonard, Mike Conaway, Marty Martin have accompanied the combo at various events.
