Monsterboy, a husband and wife duo, was discovered at a Bonnaroo open mic by MTV.com. As a genre-less artist, they marry indie pop with elements of alternative, folk, and grunge to craft catchy but unique originals. Their variety of reworked covers are crowd favorites as each song is re-envisioned to feature a baritone saxophone.
This power couple has found that being a duo has its perks on live performances, as acoustic gigs lend a more intimate vibe for coffee shops, college campuses, and house shows. Alternatively, they can showcase the multi-instrumental skills of both musicians on the larger stages of venues and festivals. Their love story captivates audiences one room at a time.
What to Expect
For acoustic shows, the duo can provide a powerful yet compact PA that has a small footprint. Chris plays an acoustic guitar and sings, while Veronica will be switching between a tenor and baritone saxophone. This is great fit for smaller audiences, background music, or places where stage space is a concern. Expect a friendly relaxed vibe from the couple while they re-envision some of your favorite songs from various generations of hits and an assortment of acoustic versions of their originals. Songs on their cover list range from current top 40 artists including Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and the Jonas Brothers, to classic songs like Stand By Me, Wonderwall, Landslide, and Heart Shaped Box.
For our electric performances, audiences will experience a multi-instrumental duo performing on various instruments to create their unique indie alt-pop sound. There is also video projection synced with each song to provide a modern music festival-inspired experience. This footprint is a bit larger to incorporate multiple instruments for each performer and the band prefers to have a sound engineer provided for these performances.
Audiences find the husband and wife chemistry between songs to be adorable.
Monsterboy is Chris Long and Veronica Wirges, a husband and wife duo out of Little Rock whose love story captivates audiences one room at a time. After being discovered at a Bonnaroo open mic by MTV.com, the couple took on the task of finding a method for capturing the music that was playing in their heads.
The duo landed on recording everything for Monsterboy in their home studio, influenced by creatives such as Beck and Prince. Each instrument is separately tracked out and layered to realize the finished song, often using classical or tribal instruments in non-traditional pairings to get the feel they know the song needs. Monsterboy is a genre-less artist, marrying indie pop with elements of alternative, folk, and grunge. Each song is uniquely Monsterboy in composition and vibe, regardless of the genre it is labeled. Their reworked covers are crowd favorites as each song is re-envisioned to feature a baritone saxophone.

Monsterboy has supported acts such as GGOOLLDD, Wild Moccasins, and Vesperteen, as well as featuring at festivals like SXSW and Solar Flux. The act is looking forward to touring regionally this year, while continuing their waterfall release of a new song every 3 weeks.
Additional Booking Notes
One of the great things about our flexible set up is we can scale down to a coffee house or up to the main stage of a festival. What we need at every show is bottled water and fans, along with shade for outdoor events.
Small events we can provide our own pa if requested. At larger events/electric sets a sound engineer and pa will need to be provided by the venue. We can provide a lighting schemes per song so that the local stage lighting company can coordinate with our video. A video feed that synced with our songs is part of our electric sets and is usually projected on each side of the stage. We can provide projectors and screens for a small/medium sized events if requested.
