Mary-Alexandra Onstad is a versitle Soprano with a graduate diploma from The New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. Ranging from genres of Musical Theatre, Opera, Art song, to Jazz and religious music, Mary-Alexandra has a lengthy schooling in both Opera and Vocal Studies and has taught Privately in both Voice and Piano. She loves what she does and is willing to make your event if that be a wedding ceremony, funeral, to private function the best one she has sung at.
I have know Mary for a number of years and have had many occasions to work with her, in church and operatic repertoire. Mary has a beautiful soprano voice and is always well-prepared and punctual. I will definitely hire her again when the occasion is right and scheduling permits.
Mary has been singing with me for six years as a member of the church choir. Her angelic soprano voice has touched many souls, whether she's singing a solo or with others. Mary also actively participates in volunteer services, having raised money for the needy using her singing talents.
Mary-Alexandra Onstad performed the soprano solos for our church's performance of the Rutter Requiem. I was very appreciative of how well prepared she was for the solo/piano rehearsal. During her solo rehearsal she was very flexible with suggestions given to her, and the suggestions she gave were very helpful as well. Her collaborative effort made the process run very smoothly. The subsequent rehearsal and performance were made all the better by her preparation and professionalism. She sang with knowledge of not only the technical facets of the work, but the emotional grounding needed to perform the Requiem with a sense of direction and beauty. She was a joy to work with and I hope to work with her again soon.
