What to Expect
The Marron-Johnston Duo will customize music selections for a wedding ceremony, or provide a variety of classical and lighter background music for a special event.
Classical guitarist James Marron is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and has performed in Italy, France, Germany and throughout the United States. His CD recordings include “Spring Rising” and “Six Poems for the Angles”. Radio appearances include Live at Hochstein WXXI Rochester, NY and Not the Dead White Male Composer Series WCLV Cleveland, OH. Mr. Marron is on the faculty of Ashland University, the College of Wooster and the University of Akron.
Violinist Linda Nagy Johnston is Principal Second Violinist of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, and First Violinist with the Canton Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in music festivals in New Hampshire, Colorado, Japan, Italy and Austria. Linda holds a Master of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music in New York City and a Bachelor of Music degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Potsdam College of the State University of New York.
Jim and Linda have performed in recital at the College of Wooster and the University of Akron, and have many years of professional performing experience.
Additional Booking Notes
We accept outdoor engagements in warmer months; however, due to the fragile nature of our instruments, we require overhead shelter with full shade.
Wedding rehearsal attendance is not included in a quote, and is usually not needed, as we take the responsibility to time your requested music to fit the ceremony.
We provide our own music stands and stand lighting as needed.
All-black concert attire is standard.
