What to Expect
Generally, the best length for a belly dance performance is 15-20 (link hidden)e rate usually will not change for an extra few minutes or so, but please be advised over 20 minutes tends to be overkill for your guests. A typical performance includes a solo dance, usually an elegant veil entrance piece, followed by an upbeat drum solo piece- in addition to that, if requested I can invite the guest(s) of honor and/or get the audience engaged in more interactive fun and up to dance with me (always in a tasteful, fun manner) to an upbeat song. Depending on your requests, we can add the interactive fun, or I can just perform solo dances, or combine the two, its really up to you. I can bring a bunch of coin belts to hand out for the audience to use for the interactive portion as well.
For showers/stagettes/bachelorette parties: A full lesson/class can be arranged for longer than 20 min if desired. prices negotiable. This can be done at a hall, or at a residence. I will provide coin belts for the woman to wear during the lesson as well.
Requirements for a performance are a powerful CD system or DJ and sufficient dancing space that is safe for bare feet. Payment is made in advance of the performance, day of, cash only. I understand things do not always run exactly on schedule, a grace period of 15 min is ok, but I will have to charge extra if my performance is pushed back longer than 15 min- amount will vary depending on location and length of wait time.
Madame Andrea began her journey with dance as a child. She has been dancing since the age of 5, training in Ballet which she extensively studied for over 10 years. After taking a few years off, Andrea was drawn back to her love of dance after being introduced to bellydancing. She was immediately hooked and started training, and has continued belly dancing for the past 9 years as an instructor and a performer. She began her Belly Dance training at Arabesque Acadamy, studying classical Egyptian and has moved on to explore Tribal and fusion belly dance at the Dark Side studio with Audra Simmons. Andrea has also attended various training and technique workshops in Toronto and California with world renowned dancers: Kami Liddle, Rachel Brice, Ariellah, Mira Betz, Samantha Emmanuel, Badia Star and Yasmina Ramzy.
Madame Andrea is also a certified STOTT Pilates Instructor and highly experienced Yoga instructor currently teaching group and private lessons in many locations thoughout the GTA (see schedule) Andrea is a certified STOTT pilates instructor and a highly experienced Yoga instructor. She has studied exclusevly with STOTT Pilates attaining her mat and reformer certifications, as well as specialty training in pre and post natal, stability ball, flex band and fitness circle, and stability chair.
She has also completed various workshops to further her fitness experience such as: STOTT golf conditioning on the reformer, STOTT athletic conditioning on the stability chair, STOTT reformer resistance training, Primary and secondary series of Ashtanga Yoga, Pre-natal Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and gravity GTS. Andrea is constantly continuing her fitness education with various courses and workshops to progress in her knowledge as an instructor.
Andrea's fitness classes have also been featured in various local TV and newspapers over the years: Rogers TV “York Region Living” program (Belly Dance), Vaughan Citizen Newspaper - feature article on Andrea (Belly Dance), Rogers TV “York Region Living” program (Pilates).
Andrea currently teaches Bellydance, Pilates, Yoga, and Fusion (yoga and pilates) as well as personal training. Andrea believes in living and promoting a healthy lifestyle and it is her mission to motivate, challenge & inspire you to better yourself, be healthy and active, and ultimately have fun and enjoy her classes.
