Gig Length: 15 - 120 minutes
What to Expect
We'll perform a unique comedy show just for you. Typically that's 3-6 performers who will be doing a series of improv games for anywhere from 15 minutes to a full 90 minute show. We will be soliciting suggestions from the audience and using those to inspire our performance.
As long as there is an empty space we can call a stage, we can perform there. As certain venues have certain challenges, we will work with you on any specific technical needs or otherwise.
Mad Cowford has been entertaining Jacksonville audiences since 2006! We perform improv games similar to "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?" as well as more intricate forms such as sketch comedy, improvised musicals and Chicago-style longform improvisation.
Mad Cowford actors are available for performances at your venue, or at private and corporate events. We've performed at churches, bars, restaurants, theatres, hotel ballrooms, classrooms, porches, wedding receptions, clubhouses, and sidewalks. We're also available for improv instruction and workshops, including corporate trainings, emcee/hosting gigs, or whatever odd performance request you might have.
With some advance information we can tailor specific performance pieces to your guest of honor, company, CEO, or whomever. We can also tailor the content to your audience (children, dog-lovers, dog-haters, etc.).
Additional Booking Notes
Our style of comedy is best suited for venues which don't require amplification. We can work with microphones if they are provided by the venue, but headsets, body microphones, or hanging mics are preferred. Hand-held microphones limit our ability to perform and interact with the audience during most shows. The emcee can use a microphone.
With enough notice we may be able to provide limited technical equipment for sound, and a computer to plug into your system. We can provide a person who operates tech for an additional cost.
Any cleared area can be a stage. It is preferred that either lighting be focused on that area, or that other lights be dimmed/turned off.
We've worked with many different venues and setups. Talk to us and we can work it out.
