"Lucas Molandes is a one of a kind voice you surely don't want to miss." - Booking agent.
"This guy gets it!" - Larry Bender, Captain Giggles manager.
Since starting comedy in 1996, Molandes has consistently pleased audiences with his quick one-liners and story telling. Club owners and bookers praise Molandes' dedication to the craft of comedy, making it appear as if "he's not telling jokes, but giving people hope in these troubled times." A recovering alcoholic (9 years sober!), Molandes takes the audience on a joy ride through the eyes of a man constantly confused by the world around him. No crowd is too big or too small for this pro to handle. Once he takes the stage, everyone in the audience will surely be captivated by his unique and hilarious look at the world.
Lucas began his career at The Velveeta Room in Austin, a small urban room in the hot seat of entertainment known as "6th Street District". It was there that Molandes developed his crossover act that made him so popular and accessible on the road. In 2003, Molandes was one of the most booked headliners on the "Gribble Circuit", a series of one-nighters in the coveted Eastern Time zone. Life on the road took it's toll on Molandes, who began drinking heavily to cope with the demon of success. A chance encounter with Molandes' comedic idol, Boomer "Rodeo" Ridgely, led Lucas to the long road known as Sobriety. Since that time, Molandes' life and comedy have only gotten better!
Off stage, Lucas has amassed a dedicated Twitter following, which was able to generate such an impressive grass-roots enthusiasm he was able to get first writing gig in the Big Apple - New York City. Molandes, along with a team of great writers, created the sensational MTV hit, "Failosophy."
Molandes has appeared on Comedy Central's "Life with Gotham", CNN Headline New's "Not Just Another Cable News Show", and MTV's "Failosophy." He has appeared multiple times on the famous WTF with Mark Marrin podcast. In 2010, Molandes was given the honorary title of "Funniest Man in Austin." Molandes has performed at the Montreal Laughs Festival, the Great American Comedy Festival in Norfolk Nebraska, the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival, and the SXSW "Good Guys of Comedy" Festival.
Be sure to book Molandes if you get the opportunity, he's almost certainly always on the road, perfecting his jokes and delighting audiences from Coast to Coast.
