Louie Cruz Beltran is a recognized master conguero, vocalist, bandleader and entertainer who performs high energy, danceable and accessible originals, Latin jazz, jazz, R&B and rock classics. Louie always connects to his audience with dazzling musicianship and humor. He plays with equal excellence on timbales and congas and has a strong, clear voice. Louie is known for getting people up to dance, regardless of the venue, from the prestigious Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills to community outdoor summer concerts presented by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. He is an exceptionally strong and versatile front man and vocalist, excelling in cumbia and salsa as well.

What to Expect
Louie is a great entertainer for events and private parties - very danceable and fun, high energy, always percussive. He is versatile and performs classic R&B as well as rock material, and can also do a classic salsa set. His most common configuration is a five piece ensemble - Louie up front on congas and vocals, keyboard, drums, bass, and sax/flute. He has also led orchestras of 12 for major festivals (Playboy Jazz at the Hollywood Bowl) and worked with trios for intimate supper club engagements.
Louie is managed and booked by Corniche Entertainment. We are very pro active in promoting all public events, with solid connections to radio and print media, and have worked with nearly every major venue in Southern California, including venues in Los Cabos, Mexico, Seattle, Washington, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
Louie also performs an interactive motivational solo percussion seminar, and has been vetted by the Los Angeles County Library system and is a preferred presenter. His solo percussion seminar has been presented at Thousand Oaks Library, Brand Library in Glendale, CA, as well as La Crescenta Library, Lancaster Library, HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles Youth,) Santee Educational Complex in LA, Cathedral High School and Marshall High School. He discusses the roots of specific rhythms and how they emigrated from Africa through the Americas and into today's music, making it fun and interactive for all ages. Louie gets audiences to participate through clapping, dancing, and playing small percussion instruments which he provides.
With his dynamic blend of Afro Cuban rhythms, jazz, Latin jazz, pop, R&B and originals, bandleader, percussionist and vocalist Louie Cruz Beltran has shared the stage with legends Natalie Cole, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson, among many more. At the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl Louie made a huge impact. To quote Variety “Louie was the unexpected triumph of the day. This music is why the Playboy Jazz Festival was created!”

Louie’s critically acclaimed CD “Paint the Rhythm” features an all star line up of some of the most exciting and recognized names in Latin Jazz and climbed to #4 on the national charts. His sold out debut CD “It’s My Time” has just been reissued. Louie passionately advocates for arts education with a motivational percussion presentation in schools and libraries throughout Southern California. This year he once again provided the musical entertainment for the prestigious National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Awards Gala, and recently was honored to entertain famed civil rights pioneer and Medal of Freedom recipient Dolores Huerta at her 85th birthday celebration.
Louie has performed at many music festivals throughout the West, including the Carlsbad, Long Beach, Brea and Ventura Festivals, among others. He is a popular attraction at the Levitt Pavilions in Pasadena and MacArthur Park. Louie had a guest appearance with Santana at the Gibson Universal Amphitheatre and headlined Santana’s VIP show. Louie has performed at the Mandalay Bay and Venetian Hotels in Las Vegas, the Ronald Reagan Library & Petersen Museum for Time Warner, and for Doctors Without Borders on numerous occasions. Louie performed for guests at the beautiful Las Ventanas al Pariaso Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, and has performed three sold out New Year’s Eve Galas at the prestigious Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. He has twice performed the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium, and has performed the anthem for the Los Angles Clippers and also the Anaheim Angels.
