What to Expect
Talent buyers love working with me because I communicate well, show up early to set up and have great professional gear. I have a small PA and lights for my solo shows for up to 250 people.
People love my voice, my stories and the award winning folk/bluesy originals. I've also performed on cruise ships, restaurants, pubs and casino's playing the hits... covers from the 60's until now.
If I don't know a tune... I've been know to learn it in the bathroom on breaks. If you have a few songs you'd love to hear, please let me know. I can engage with the audience or be wallpaper. It's up to you, it's your party.
My sound system also has great backing tracks so you don't have to worry about playing background music before, after or between sets.
Lindsay May is an acoustic guitar and mandolin wielding songstress with itchy feet and home base with a lake view and wood stove! A prolific songwriter with a direct connection to her muse, Lindsay wrote enough material for her and Mark Gordon to record and produce two americana/alt-country albums at once. Her second and third albums. Folks says she sounds like a mix of (link hidden)ng, Kathleen Edwards, Alison Krauss and Lucinda Williams and Linda Rondstadt. And most recently, Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies, crossed with Janis Joplin.)
“Every guitar slide, breathy harmony and note is Nashville-quality.” Grade A-, the Vancouver Province
“Ten perfect songs gathering together on one album reminding us that albums can be good from start to finish. “ Mossip Journal
“With her unique phrasing and distinctive smoky tone, she doesn’t emulate any singer of today. Lindsay is one of a kind.” - earshot
“Here’s another example of the fine musical talent this country has to offer. “ - Scene Magazine
“Bronze and Blue is brimming over with foot tapping melodies ..... her songs are that good.” Herizons Magazine
May, 2015 - "Lindsay gets 4 E's! Entertaining, engaging, energetic, and expressive. A thoroughly enjoyed show from start to finish. Great songs and variety mixed with personal stories had the audience entranced."
November, 2016 - "Wow. What a show Lindsay put on for us on Saturday. Her gorgeous haunting melodies coupled with her wonderful, distinctive, sometimes smoky voice made for an truly magical evening. I had several friends comment that it was "Best Show We've Hosted Yet". Sounding sometimes like Janis Joplin and next like Linda Ronstadt, her amazing voice and talented songwriting left everybody wanting for more. Friendly, Honest and Open Personality. We can't wait to have her back again next year."
Additional Booking Notes
