Our dancers & African drummers make your event truly memorable.
Lady Jonkonnu put together a drum and dance group that entertained our wedding guests. It was extremely authentic and everyone loved it! She brought our wedding to another level. We had a few needs that changed at the last minute and she was completely flexible.
Response from Lady Jonkonnu:
Cedric,
First of all congratulations again on your wedding. In the midst of starting a new life with a beautiful and gracious bride and getting ready for your honeymoon to Paris and Morocco the fact that you took the time to write a review is extremely gracious. It was our pleasure to witness and to add in some small way to your glorious wedding day.
Best Regards,
Lady Jonkonnu
As a first grade teacher in Newton I have had the privilege of watching Ms. Smalls perform for many years. Ms. Smalls is an engaging and captivating speaker. She references her wonderfully diverse picture books and inspires many of the students. She incorporates academic content into the presentation when talking about onomatopoeia. Her presentation is full of dance, music, singing, and acting. We always look forward to having Ms. Smalls present to the classes. The kids always come back into the classroom wanting to write and draw. As a published author, she informs the students about her process and allows for questions at the end. I highly recommend Ms. Smalls as a presenter, educator, and talented author.

Our dancers & African drummers make your event truly memorable. We can play light background music or raise the roof upon the entrance of the bride or the special guest. Get attendees at your event dancing to the beat of African drummers. A brief African dance class before our presentation and your guests join us in a rousing dance session following the lesson.
Your guests participating in the performance is optional.
Highlight cultural heritage during African-American History month or any day of the year.
We also can teach African dance and African drumming to attendees at your next event for a unique event element.
African Drum performances are perfect for religious ceremonies, outdoor events or as filler music between main parts of a program.
Our regular storytelling program involves one storyteller but can also include African dance and drumming.
