La Famille Trio / Cajun Brothers Duo

Why book La Famille Trio / Cajun Brothers Duo?

Family brought together by one inspiration; "The Love of Authentic Traditional Music of the Cajun Culture and Heritage" and Zydeco Fun. We provide a 3 piece Trio as LaFamille or a Duo (Cajun Brothers) (Accordion and Guitar) just like the old days. Our speciality is playing Acoustically or with very small set-up, ideal for small parties, coffee shops, small establishments. Also Wedding Receptions, Cajun Theme Parties are great for us. Our music is Traditional Cajun Music, with songs sung in French and English. We also perform some Zydeco tunes as well. Our sound is very full with and capable of a great Fais Do Do, Party. As a Powerful Trio, with percussion it does not get any better. Merci!

Perfect Rehearsal Dinner touch!

We recently hired the Cajun Brothers Duo and couldn't have had a more wonderful experience.
Dan, whom we spoke with prior to event, was also one of the duo's.
They greeted the bridal party guests as they arrived at the Ormond Plantation in Destrehan, La.
We had asked initially that they play only aucoustically but would see how the evening progressed and the guests enjoyed and they could do their thing!!
Theyre playing/singing MADE the evening and was perfect.
You can see their music website and listen to the music, which is what we did.
The Cajun traditional wedding march was an added bonus!
Dan......You were the BEST.....
God Bless you and may you have Many many more successful events!!

Thank you also so much, for having us. It was a memorable and enjoyable evening at Ormond Plantation, with everyone.

Zydeco Party!

La Famille has traveled to downtown Lufkin, Texas twice now to perform for us at Standpipe Coffee House. This family puts on a show that will turn almost any music fan into a fan of cajun music and the keyboard accordion! Our crowd started off wary, but by the end of the show were moving back chairs to dance! The next show cannot come soon enough.

THE REAL THING- GENUINE CAJUN MUSIC

I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing the Cajun Brothers Duo for the first time in Ocean Springs, MS a few weeks ago. Then we were lucky enough to book the whole La Famille Musique family-- La Famille Trio for the Rockin the Riverfront festival nearby in my hometown of Moss Point, MS on April 28, 2012. What an awesome show it was! They are an incredible talent and a wonderful family. It was truly a privilege to have them. If you want the real thing- genuine Cajun music, then book La Famille Musique and you will NOT be disappointed! --Wayne Lennep, Rockin the Riverfront Festival committee, Moss Point, Mississippi.

New Year's Eve 2011 Cedar Canyon Lodge Freedom, OK.

La Famille Musique drove over 800 miles to perform for us at Cedar Canyon on New Year's Eve 2011. They were professional, pleasant, easy to work with, and most of all, awesome Cajun music performers. True to their art. Welcome again anytime. Thanks so much.

Response from La Famille Trio / Cajun Brothers Duo:

Cedar Canyon Lodge Staff, We have made it home safely, and wanted to thank you for hiring us to play for you. We really enjoyed ourselves and made memories that will last a lifetime. We are especially grateful, for how much trouble you went through to make everything just right for everyone, from us to the customers and patrons that came out to enjoy the New Year Celebration. We will come back and play for you , whenever you like. The lodge was very nice and we wish we could have stayed in the rooms longer, but we had to get back for work on Tuesday. We took many photos of the night and we will send you a disc, with them on it. From our whole gang and family, Thank you again and please keep in touch. We will post our performance photos on our FACEBOOK page, and on our music website.

La Famille is Awesome!!!

My wife and I booked La Famille for our local wedding celebration. We chose a "cajun theme" and served authentic cajun cuisine. But what is a "cajun themed party" without a real authentic cajun band! And La Famille delivered!!! Wow!!! Just a tremendous group. Dan and his wife Pam, and their accordian player John, are all so very talented! We had guests from California, New York, and Connecticut; as well as locals from Misssissippi and Louisiana. Everyone was very impressed with the quality and personality of this wonderful band. Dan and Pam Wilcox are very professional and they answered inquiry through Gig Salad very promptly. They also continued to follow up with us throughout the pre-party planning stage. Additionally, they interacted well with everyone at the party, and even conducted "cajun two-step" lessons! I would highly recommend this band for anyone who loves traditional cajun/ zydeco music. Thanks again to Dan, Pam, and John! Also thank you to Gig Salad for making it easy to contact and book a wonderful group of professional musicians! Laissez le bon temps rouler!

La Famille Trio / Cajun Brothers Duo

Artist Bio:
Family brought together by one inspiration; "The Love of Authentic Traditional Music of the Cajun Culture and Heritage", formed by Dan Wilcox and Pam Wilcox founders of LaFamille Band. Accordionist - John Leger originally from Biloxi, MS. sings original arrangements that tell the story in much of the music lost by new age influences. John comes from a family legacy of musicians, including his late father Amos Leger , who played guitar. John has been playing since 6 years old, by ear and listening to the old records of his father and grandfather. John also made TV appearances as a child on the TV show Passe Passe Tout, in Lafayette. John Played for many years with Allen Fontenot and the Country Cajuns, and went on to record his own CD with a band John called his own, the John Leger and the Debris Band. His CD is available on ITUNES and various resources. He also recorded a CD as John Leger Bayou Dinde, as well John appeared in the Hollywood Movie, Les Chenier, which is a beautifully done movie about south Louisiana life, with John playing music live in movie and on recorded tracks. John's influences or favorites were Iry Lejeune. Johns lost all of his musical equipment in hurricane RITA and now currently plays on Dan Wilcox's Custom Cajun King Accordion and Dan's Jr. Martin Accordion. Dan Wilcox, guitar player from Gretna, La. grew up with influence of Cajun Music with family. Dan learned guitar by ear and played with Frank Donaldson Guitar Group as a student and eventually a teacher, all while only a Freshman at Holy Cross High School in New Orleans. Dan grew up with constant Cajun Music being played in the household by family. Dan would learn to play Cajun songs and sing, with family, " we would listen to records, of all the Cajun greats and we would both practice their style and learn the songs". Dan played first with Allen Fontenot by sitting in, and eventually would begin a band with his family , as La Touche Traditional Cajun Band. Dan started the first Cajun Music sessions to be played at the Original Michauls in Algiers and then New Orleans, along with the Bayou Barn in Crown Point, La. and also was the first group to start a Cajun Fais Do Do at the Four Columns in Harvey, La. Dan was instrumental in breaking the New Orleans Stigma for not having Cajun Music on Bourbon St., for clubs like the Famous Door Club had us play 5 days a week for many months. Now the Bourbon is alive with Cajun Music and overall theme. Over the years Dan, has filled in with other great bands on Guitar, and has had the blessed opportunity to play all over the U.S.A. , Quebec Canada, and in Europe. Dan Often sings verses in English, that John sung in French. Dan's influences in Cajun Guitar playing has been D.L. Menard and Frank Donaldson. Dan Recorded 1 Album /Cassette, under Cypress Records, Cypress Island Stomp. Two tracks of which he helped compose, Cypress Island Stomp and Alligator Waltz. Dan is working out the accordion, and dreams of playing well like John and others he has played with over the years. Dan has played with Allen Toussaint, Chermaine Neville, Fats Domino, Queen Ida, Al Rapone, Bruce Daigrepont, and many others. Dan recently played with a Louisiana Variety Band out of Carencro, but since then has left them in April 2010 to go back to his real roots in Cajun Heritage Music. Pam Galliano Wilcox is new to Cajun Percussion although a rock drummer by heart and hopes to learn many instruments, and sing and speak Cajun French again like her parents. Pams family is from Matthews,La. Georgia Plantation roots. Pam is also a vocalist, Master Flute Player, and coming along on Cajun Accordion.. We will have guest fiddle players, from time to time.

Our Cajun Duet music, is performed in Traditional Style, our vocals are strong and exciting to hear. As at many of our performances most folks cannot resist getting up to dance.

"I like to call our music Organic Cajun Music" as we add no foot pedals, no effects.
Much of our music and other videos can be found on http://www.reverbnation.com/LaFamille
