Hailing from the islands of Hawai'i, Kua'ana brings the Hawaiian reggae vibe to the mainland, making you feel like you are back on the islands. Kua'ana is the perfect live band for your Lu'au, wedding reception, cocktail party, private party, corporate party, college event, birthday party, and much, much more!!!
We were looking for a Hawaiian Reggae or Hawaiian Contemporary band for our Hawaiian themed wedding. I am from Hawaii and I love the Hawaiian Reggae sound. We wanted a live band for our ceremony and cocktail hour.
We found Kua’ana online and went to their website and YouTube page. We liked what we saw and heard. We met with Ricky and booked the band (although we never saw them perform live). In preparation for the wedding we provided Ricky with a list of songs that we wanted for our ceremony and cocktail hour.
On the day of our wedding, I went to check on the set up at our venue. I found Ricky working with our DJ to provide us with the best entertainment possible (they have never met before nor were they required to work together). Keep in mind we never heard Kua’ana perform live. When it came time for our ceremony I finally heard Kua’ana live and it was an OMG moment or as we say in Hawaii it gave me chicken skin.
They played the Hawaiian wedding song for our weeding party in a way I never heard it played before. It was awesome. When it was my beautiful Bride’s turn to walk down the aisle they played (a white sandy beach) it brought tears to my eyes. I cannot express in words how Kua’ana really made our wedding special.
All of our guest kept asking us where did you find the band and we told them on line and You Tube. They did not believe it. They kept saying you guys never heard them live before the wedding and we say no today was the first time hearing them live. They were in awe.
If you really want to make your wedding special you need Kua’ana to play for your ceremony and reception.
Ricky and Kua’ana thank you for making our wedding very very special to us.
Look forward to hearing you guys again soon.

WE LOVE YOU GUYS! The best party I have ever planned....and it was all due to the music. We have been fans for years and I can't believe you came to my bf, Ricky's 30th birthday party. Everyone raved about the music. You guys are THE best and made the party that much more memorable. I would recommend you to anyone and everyone! I can't thank you guys enough. You were truly the highlight of the night. MAHALO and see you at future shows!!!!
Love them. . . you won't be disappointed! Nappy knows how to adapt to the event and knows how to keep the crowd entertained.
I had the pleasure of sharing this bands musical talent and epic aloha vibe with my family and friends at the Celebration of Life event for my dear Mom :) Their music and kind spirit added such a wonderful ambiance to the peaceful setting and mood to honor my mom. I would highly recommend this band for ANY event as their song list is varied for all occasions. You won't be disappointed :)
Kua'ana = awesome music and a fabulous time
I knew I had to contact Kua'ana for my son's 1st birthday as they provided the music at my baby shower last year. Both Ricky and Nappy were wonderful. They provided that special something that made the party easy going and very memorable. My son, along with our guests enjoyed the music and vibe. Kua'ana embodies both the "Aloha" and "Ohana" spirit and we look forward to having Kua'ana at our next family event!
Kua'ana provided awesome Hawaiian reggae music for our wedding ceremony and reception. Ricky was very helpful and made it super easy on us as far as planning and communicating before the event, and on the day of the wedding they really delivered! They did a great job of setting the mood with the ceremony music, and the live music sets at the reception were definitely enjoyed by all of our guests and really made our wedding day extra special. They allowed us to make lots of song requests, were very professional, friendly and took care of all the logistical/set up details without us even noticing, and most importantly they are very talented musicians who perform well!! We would highly recommend Kua'ana to anyone considering hiring them for their wedding or other special event, they were definitely a great addition to ours.
we hired Kua'ana for our wedding ceremony/reception. they were on time and brought soothing music to our hawaiian themed wedding. Pricing is awesome and they are very sociable.
I hired these guys for my daughter's 1st birthday luau. They were professional throughout the entire process. They were on-time, friendly and provided the perfect ambiance/entertainment for our birthday party, I could not be more happier. They are worth every dollar I spent and I would re-book them for my next event!
Live entertainment is BEST and these guys are the BEST!
Kua'ana was a great group that was perfect for our annual college Luau. All the guys in the band were more than great, super accommodating, and fun to be with. The music was great, as they played a variety of stuff, and even jammed a few songs with audience members.
We had Kua'ana perform for an afternoon at Styles of Hawaii and everyone loved the sounds so much that they bought CDs to share the great music with friends and family. Great band to hire for all occasions! Loved the hula dancing too!
We hired Kua'ana for our wedding reception. They are so professional and easy to work with! Many of our guests had great things to say about them! The music is fun and easy to dance to. We have purchased their CD's to hear their songs again and again. Would love to hire them again!
these guys were great. we hired them for our annual college luau. we were a bit inexperienced in all the organizational stuff, so it was great to have a band who didn't pressure us into corners and were very patient through all our little mishaps. they were also very easy to get into contact with!
and their music is wonderful too! they can play nice and mellow dinner music and then after, they can play fast paced music. such a great band to hire, and i'm so glad i got to meet them!
Upbeat blending of original and local Hawaiian jams. Entertaining, funny, a good looking group. Hire them and invite me.

KUA'ANA BIOGRAPHY
Hailing from the islands of Hawai’i, Kua’ana brings the Hawaiian reggae vibe to the mainland, making you feel like you are back on the islands. Originally formed in the late 1990's, the boys hooked up in Carson, California after resurrecting the original Kua’ana lineup several years ago. The band spent so much time together they felt like they must be related - Kua'ana was re-born.
It didn't take long to get the buzz going about this new island rhythms band and Kua'ana soon found themselves performing at clubs up and down the West Coast. Their diligence in keeping the band together has not gone unnoticed. Kua’ana has had the honor of sharing the stage with Fiji, Bonafide, comedian Augie T, The Makaha Sons, Sean Na'auao, Kapena, Keali'i Reichel, Ho'onu'a, Sistah Robi, Three Plus, Kalapana, Baba B., Willie K, Amy Gilliom, C&K, and Ernie Cruz, Jr.
"Feels Like Home," Kua’ana’s CD contains 12 originals, kicks off with "U," a love song with sweet harmonies and a light reggae beat. The title track has a fun bass line, and a catchy, "Oh, what a feeling," hook. "Wish," a beautiful ballad, is featured on the popular "Hawaiian Style 3" compilation and was a huge hit on the islands’ radio stations. "Sway" is a crowd pleaser at the band's live performances. "Pass Da Poi" and "Nanakuli" bring Kua’ana back to their island roots.
Kua'ana released their 3rd CD titled "Island Feeling" on May 1, 2010 to a sold out crowd at Mai Tai's in Long Beach, CA. 10 slammin' original tracks, featuring the hit songs "Hold Me Tight", "Sometimes", "Waiting on You", and "Love Sweet Love".
