My best audience is folks from age 30 to 70 who have been fans of blues and classic rock. My set lists include 40+ songs, many of which are familiar and loved by this demographic. My performance is based on taking familiar songs and making them unique to me. Each of my sets runs between 30 and 45 minutes.
"Kipp Tahosa - making the familiar his own."
My high school classmate in Lawrence, Kansas was Robby Steinhardt who fronted the band Kansas. I am a protege of Randy California, guitarist and singer for the band Spirit, who befriended and taught me most of his musical catalog. It is his influence which informs and inspires my performances, and he personally gifted me to perform his music which I have done for more than twenty years after his accidental death. I am a featured performer at the Blue Door Inn in Estes Park, playing three sets per night, four nights per week from Memorial Day through September. Jackie Robinson, the Blue Door GM, will attest to my performances there and the guest feedback received.
