Kristie LeVangie is a two-time author, award-winning poet, and former host of the Chronicles of Libidacoria podcast as heard on Sirius Radio's Playboy Radio channel. Her writing can be characterized as semantically-jolting, sexually-explicit and intellectually-provoking. Available for private parties, readings, speaking, or appearances performing provocative spoken word poetry.

In March of 2008, Kristie simultaneously published her first complete collection of poetry titled Libidacoria: In a Plain Brown Wrapper and ventured into the podcast world. The Shades of K—: Chronicles of Libidacoria podcast began with audio readings of the poetry in her book along with accompanying essays (some diary, some social commentary, some comedy) and set it all to music by independent and local musicians. The podcast quickly gained popularity, was showcased on Playboy Radio’s Spice Channel, and grew to have audiences in over 59 countries around the world.
Later in 2008, Kristie sat in the Author’s Tent at the 2008 Baltimore Book Festival, and then partnered with Harry Rooster, The Professor of TPBN (The Phonetic Bells Network), to record a song called, “I’m Not Asking for Love” based on one of her poems. The song captures the raw sexuality of Kristie’s poetry with the industrial dance vibes of Harry’s composing for one hot number.
In March of 2009, Libidacoria branched into the talk show realm with Libidacoria: The Late Night Talk Show. A laid-back, sarcastic, but educational program, Kristie and her crew of co-hosts— examined modern sexuality on a variety of topics from tame to outrageous and from educational to utterly entertaining. They welcomed guests from religious sex toy designers to pioneering social scientists to YouTube sensations. This show ended in April 2012, so Kristie could concentrate on other projects.
2011 would be the year that Kristie first took her act on the road. She began touring the Midwest with her breakout performance at the Detroit Erotic Poetry and Musical Festival in February. In March, she appeared at the Dirty Little Secrets show in Dayton, Ohio, introducing a flavor of burlesque into her performance. In both April and December 2011, she performed at the Kira’s Oasis V.I.P. Burlesque show in Centerville, Ohio, and in August 2011, she appeared in the 1st Annual Ohio Burlesque Festival in Cleveland.
2011 also saw the release of “On the Floor”, a dance/rap song written in collaboration with Talianna L., a teen singer/songwriter from Ohio and her very talented daughter.
In November, Kristie would foray into the realm of retail and open an upscale consignment store catering to pin-up girls, burlesque performers, drag queens, crossdressers, rocker and boho chicks, and general divas who enjoy both unique and classic statement pieces. What once begun on eBay, now has it’s own online retail site and is growing weekly.
In February 2012, she performed again at the Erotic Poetry and Music Festival in Detroit in celebration of their 25th anniversary, and in March, she published her second volume of poetry, and a prequel to Libidacoria: In a Plain Brown Wrapper, entitled 4play. Another collection of erotic poetry, this book showcases an elevated style and lyrical evolution.
She would go on to be a showcased artist at the 2012 SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day Dayton and RAW Natural Born Artists Cincinnati’s Mixology July 2012 event.
In August 2012, LeVangie took on a new challenge, and (link hidden) produced its very first live performance in Dayton, Ohio, called Passion & Poetry: An Intimate Night of Erotic Literature. Featuring poets, musicians, burlesque dancers and artists, this event drew people from all over the tri-state in celebration of the erotic arts. Check out more about the Passion & Poetry Intimate Event series and come out and join us at a future salon.
Kristie most recently performed during Opening Night of the Fierce! Queer International Burlesque showcase in Columbus, Ohio in May 2013 and at Bossy Grrl’s Pin-up Joint Skinful Saturday in October 2013.
In December 2013, Kristie embarked on her latest project, Libidacoria Magazine. The online magazine for Sexual Intellectuals who enjoy smarmy essays, erotic lit and luxuriously leisured living. Today, the magazine boasts audiences in 50 countries and more than 70 subscribers…and all without a single marketing dollar. She plans to expand the magazine’s presence and content through 2014 including integration of advertisers and a paid subscription area for naughtier “bits”.
