Based in Chicago, Just Coyotes stretches the boundaries of outlaw country and good old fashioned Americana folk-rock. Their musicianship is among the best and tightest in their genre. While much of the group's aesthetic roots are in alternative country, their influence and the revolving line-up of band members has inspired them more in the direction of roots rock and more edgy areas of Americana.
We were given this band's name by American Music and Sound for consideration to play at our Riverside Arts Weekend.
Wow!!!!! - They did NOT disappoint. They are a unique blend of American Tradition/Alternative Country. The crowd, artists and even food vendors, enjoyed them very much.
I had a number of people approach me during their play time and ask me how I found them, due to their unique style and sound.
The true sounds of American traditional music is an art form that stands the test of time.
Artists today need to get back to the basics. The foundation of produce music today is missing a key element, clean chord progression, passionate lyrics and full body sound.
Just Coyotes is a refection of the roots of American traditional music. It is clean, sound music and is preformed by genuine musicians.
Take time to enjoy the true sound of American traditional music, enjoy "Just Coyotes", you'll be happy that you did....

From their foot stomping covers to their original music, Just Coyotes has gained a solid reputation as a premier alt-country band and if you look at the band's experience it's no surprise. Its members are no strangers to the performing world with over 50 years combined experience. The chemistry that has evolved from these guys coming together is amazing.
Ray Hacker has been performing and recording guitar tracks since 1978. He picked up his first steel guitar in 1983 and was a founding member of The Dead Cowboys (1987-1990) where he opened for national recording artist Tom T. Hall. Ray adds his steady slide playing and lead/backup vocals to the band. Robert Stoppenbach is one of the finest contemporary singer songwriters to emerge from the Chicago area in recent years. As a composer, guitarist, mandolin player and engineer he adds a tremendous amount of color and sophistication to the project. Robert Oddo is a musician and songwriter and has played in bands now spanning over 2 decades and is a dynamic contributor to the Coyote sound. Bass player Paul Morebeck adds the driving pulse and has performed many styles of music - from country to rock. Paul brings his 25 years of experience to enhance Just Coyotes foot-stompin' sound. Justin Akira Kono, a percussionist and conductor of uncommon range, has been involved in countless productions and performances in the Chicagoland area and currently serves as the music director at The School of Performing Arts.
