I am a professional solo singer-guitarist. I am proud to announce that I have been voted Best Local Musician 2020 in the Loudoun Times Mirror Poll, a great honor for me. I have an excellent voice, an engaging stage presence, and a songbook that spans decades and many styles. I love to take requests from the audience, and I often surprise people by digging up songs they haven't heard for years. I know songs for all occasions, and am also comfortable playing in the background. My goal is always to blend in with an atmosphere and help the guests have a great experience at the event.
We hired Julia to play guitar and sing for our wedding Sept 2022. She communicated effectively, played even better and made sure our wedding music went off without a hitch. Prior to the event she was very flexible with the type of music and songs that we wanted her to play. She played and sang while the bride walked down the isle and it was perfect. She played and sang beautifully while also not taking away attention from the bride. Then during cocktail hour, Julia had a crowd around her playing hits and party favorites. We are very happy that Julia helped to make our wedding day even more special. Thank you!

Julia was great! Easy to work with and a great singer/guitarist. She performed at my wife’s 40th and she and her friends loved the music so much that we asked her to extend her set. She set the mood for the evening with a wide range of songs and was able to play a bunch from some of my wife’s favorite groups. Highly recommend!

I did a lot of research on gig salad before I booked julia. I could not be more happy with the decision I made to have her come to our home and sing a special song for my wife's 50th birthday. Julia made everything so easy, and simple, and her performance was truly amazing. I would also like to add she had only a few days to learn the song I requested to be played. And she nailed it! Leading up to her performance, she knew all of the right questions to ask about the location and the timing and was also very flexible when our dinner ran 30 minutes late. I highly recommend Julia for your event. You have many choices on gig salad and I would consider that with Julia's talent, flexibility, personality, and all around good-heartedness, I would choose julia!

I was looking for a performer for my wife's birthday surprise. Found Julia. She was reasonable on her fees and was among one of the performers who was ready to do vocals for the songs too.
Julia was an amazing performer. She accepted all our song requests, ensured that she was well familiar with the songs/ lyrics/ music. She arrived on-time and ensured that the event remained a surprise for my wife. I am glad to have gotten Julia for the event.

Price Range: $300 and up
Gig Length: 120 - 240 minutes
You will have a nice-looking, well-dressed performer in a compact area, sitting on a stool or chair, singing and playing nice acoustic guitar tunes. The volume will be calibrated for the size of the room and to the attention of the audience. My goal is always to enhance a setting, not detract from it. I expect people to converse over my playing so I like to keep the volume down. If the audience is disposed to pay more attention to the musician, then I can respond in kind.
I've been playing guitar and singing forever. I teach and play other instruments as well, and have recently released a cd of original music, "Motel". I play a lot of wineries and breweries in Loudoun County, and so have been able to make a living playing music.
I like to have a stool to sit on. I also require access to a power outlet. I drink coffee and seltzer water. :-)
