Versatility makes the singer. As a singer-songwriter, I have won multiple songwriting competitions and recorded my works at professional studios. I studied classical voice as a tenor for six years and piano for four, and have performed many operatic and art-song works. I sang lead in a male quartet for over three years, performing everything from barbershop and swing to gospel and liturgical music. I have led contemporary worship services at churches for over ten years. I perform regularly as lead singer for a salsa band, and I have sung the National Anthem at over fifty public events. I have perfect pitch and can sing any note at will.
My versatility is almost as wide as my range.

What makes a good performing singer? In my opinion, four things:
1) Proactive preparation and communication with venue/booking organization
2) Attention to and connection with audience
3) Intelligible text
4) Musical excellence
Why not put #4 at the top of this list? Because a performer may be the most exemplary musician on earth, but if they do not leave their heart and soul on the stage and allow the audience to journey with them through the music being showcased, then the audience will not be entertained. Additionally, no singer will find work if they are flighty and fail to communicate with the people or organization they've been contracted to entertain.
I have sung soloistically since I was nine years old, so performance and singing come naturally to me. Having received a master's degree in voice performance, however, I've developed extensive skills and knowledge to supplement this intrinsic ability. I've won many competitions -- in songwriting, battles of the bands, opera competitions, and more. I work tremendously well under pressure, and am very adaptable on stage.
Hire me, and I will do all in my power to fulfill all four of the aforementioned things that make a great performer and exceed your expectations.
Additional Booking Notes
If performing contemporary pop culture music (pop, soul, rock, country, blues, etc.), I will need access to a DC electrical connection so that I can power my keyboard, amp, and microphone. I have all of this equipment readily available so no need to provide it.
If performing a piece of classical music (art song/opera aria), I would prefer to have access to a straight-back or grand piano as opposed to a keyboard. No microphone necessary. I also to prefer to perform classical pieces indoors, but have performed classical works at outdoor venues many times before.
Varies depending on type of music requested and length of performance period
