With over a decade of professional experience, Joy has performed throughout Central Massachusetts and Boston, including The Palladium, Tammany Hall, and Boston House of Blues. She has been featured in several publications, including The Worcester Telegram & Gazette and Worcester Magazine. She is most known for her online presence, with over 190, 000 YouTube views, and has been featured in several ukulele websites, including “Humble Baritonics,” and “Uke can Play!” Joy Rachelle is "a whirlwind of musical talent and energy" (Worcester Magazine).
Joy exceeded all of our expectations. She came fully prepared to wow the crowd and she did just that! She came on time, had all the equipment needed to perform, never asked for a single thing, and performed flawlessly. She even prepared a custom song request for us! All this at a fantastic price! Joy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance at Crown College in Minnesota. In recognition of her work as a community leader and musician, she was named one of "2017's People to Watch" by Pulse Magazine and has been featured in Worcester Magazine and The Telegram and Gazette.
After graduating college, Joy returned to her home state of MA to be near family, starting the indie/folk/rock band, “Bright, the Morning,” in 2010 (with bassist Eric L’Esperance of Worcester’s local band “The Promise is Hope”). “Bright, the Morning” released its first EP album in June 2011, performing at venues throughout Boston and Greater Worcester, including The Palladium, Tammany Hall, and Boston House of Blues. Joy is most known for her online presence, with over 190, 000 YouTube views, and has been featured in several ukulele websites, including “Humble Baritonics,” and “Uke can Play!” Joy currently performs in restaurants and venues throughout Greater Worcester, including BirchTree Bread Co., Wormtown Brewery, and Lock50.
In addition, Joy is a children's music teacher and Manager at The Worcester Music Academy and is the co-founder and director of several of its performance groups, including the Youth Rock Bands and Girls A Cappella Group, who perform for local events throughout the year. She is a performer with the "Women of Worcester Productions," as well as a singer in Worcester's local ensemble, "Worcester Polyphony," and a singer in the "Old Sturbridge Village Singers" in Sturbridge, MA.
