Jasper and the Kids was founded on the streets of Hoboken when Vocalist Cecelia Ticktin was out walking her dog Jasper, Sax Player Chris Range was on the street playing for a cute waitress, and Guitarist Chris Pattwell was moving into his apartment. All 3 bumped into each other on the street and a band was born. Chris Range later went on to play for Prohibition in NYC, and together Chris Pattwell and Cecelia Ticktin continued to write, curating an alternative acoustic set list that draws on influences of folk, country, and indie rock. With a playlist packed with originals and covers, Jasper and the Kids is a band that can fit any venue's needs.
Price Range: $100-$250/hour
Gig Length: 60 - 300 minutes

Jasper and the Kids was founded on the streets of Hoboken in the summer of 2017 when Cecelia was out walking her dog Jasper, Chris Range was on the street playing his sax for a cute waitress, and Chris Pattwell was moving into his apartment. All three bumped into each other on the street, got to talking, spent the afternoon jamming outside of Spesh Barbershop, and a band was born.
With a playlist packed with originals, holiday music, and covers that span from mellow brunch sounds to highly energetic songs that make you want to sing along, Jasper and the Kids is a band that can fit any venue's needs. Catch us outside busking when the weather warms up, track our journey on instagram, and come here us play in the Northern New Jersey area.
A little more about our backgrounds...
I (Cecelia, who as the mama hen of the group is making this profile) have studied music my entire life. For college I was accepted into an incredibly prestigious musical theatre conservatory program that accepts 6 men / 6 women each year - but my journey to Broadway was abruptly halted at age 18 when I survived a near fatal car accident. I was forced to drop out of college and my rehabilitation journey took me away from performing for many years.
A few years ago I finally began making my way back to the path I originally set out on. I had just moved to Hoboken NJ and booked my first professional show and was flying high one sunny afternoon when I was walking down the street and saw the Chris's playing some instrumentals outside. Growing up in the world of musical theater and choir music there was always a lot of structure in my performing life, which works for my personality, but I was so taken with how free and relaxed these two incredible musicians were. As I explained above, one thing led to another and we formed a band that very day.
I can't speak to their extensive training backgrounds, but I can tell you that what they've taught me since we began making music together is how to loosen up :) I've learned that there is a big difference between being an artist and being creative; and that in a perfect scenario a performer is both. I was always an artist but I was never creative, and the guys have really brought that out of me - as evidenced, I think, by the songs we've written together.
