I am a transplant from NYC to Chicago, and possess 20 yrs experience across the US, UK, Asia, Latin America, Western Europe & Africa.
In following my Japanese national spouse around the world, I have developed a strong entrepreneurial spirit. In each new environment (and some of them have been doozies!), I have literally started at the ground level to build something new and unique. Now in the 2nd Act of my career, not only am I looking for different ways to put my eclectic skill base to use, but to put them to use while staying true to my values-driven life philosophy.

My experience has taught me to be a quick decision maker with a “take action” orientation, but also to be objective about people. Working with few or no resources has honed me as a logical problem solver who works well in high-pressure situations. Interestingly, I have remained tactful, cooperative, generous, understanding, and insightful through it all!
My time as a Business Unit Director and Operations Manager have afforded me the privilege of producing Employee Relation/Satisfaction engagements; leading ISO Certification initiatives; refining my Organizational Development skills; and, strategically support turn-arounds/acquisitions. I have also had the opportunity to deal with all manner of employee issues/inquiries/problems; develop and implement the full range of On-Boarding and Off-Rolling policies and procedures; and, manage Global Mobility/Placement of employees across multiple geographic locations, including attendant immigration and culture-related concerns. Further, I have held responsibility for Performance Management Systems, Management Coaching & Leadership Development, Compensation & Benefits Administration, and Rewards & Recognition.

I hold an MBA (Management) obtained at the University of Durham, UK; and an undergraduate degree in Communications from SUNY Albany. I have worked in Global HR with professional periods as a Business Unit Director and Operations Manager (COO) in the Relocation, Insurance, and Finance industries, and am highly adaptable. I am married to a Japanese national, and have two special needs adult siblings. I have both lived and worked overseas, and been an international student. I know what it means to not only fight for one’s rights within diverse systems, I consistently win.
I often joke that I am a “Jack-of-All-Trades; Master of maybe a couple.” But, if I had to name one benefit from traipsing around the world after my partner, it would be just that. I have learned to do many things well. Chief among those things, managing myself. But, it hasn't been easy. No sir. I value enormously sharing these experiences in ways that motivate others, change mindsets, speak to employee satisfaction, organization-wide sense making and productivity improvements. I'd love the opportunity to share them with your audiences, as well.
