I am a professional henna artist in the Grand Rapids area. I have been doing henna for over 10 years and had started my business professionally full time in 2015. I use only organic, homemade, lavender infused henna paste that is safe for the skin. Henna should never be black. The paste should always smell organic and be a natural brown/reddish tint. The paste is made from a plant called Lawesonia that only grows in northern Africa, Middle East and parts of India. I work with a wholesaler from Rajistan India who provides the leaf of the plant to me. I make the paste myself to guarantee safety and quality of my paste.

I am very quick and very professional. My profession ranges from bridal henna to birthday parties. I can do any sort of event or festival. My prices range from $100-$200 per hour depending on number of artists and types of events. I also have several artists who are certified under me who I can accommodate with me on larger events. This will be a benefit for your clients.

I also own a nonprofit called Henna Crowns of Courage. We create elaborate personal designs on the crowns of cancer patients heads after they lose their hair to chemotherapy. When a client books a party with Happy Henna 5.6% goes to help us crown more cancer patients. I have an piece located permanently in the Lemmon Holton Cancer Center Downtown Grand Rapids Mi. You can find my work in local news papers, news stations and magazines. I have a following of over 3,000 in the greater area of Grand Rapids and around the USA. I travel, teach and speak at conferences around the USA on the topic of Henna, Henna Crowns and the Spiritual aspect of this 5,000 year old art form.

Please be aware that henna is made from an organic plant that naturally stains the skin. I make all my own paste so it is safe for the skin.

This paste will be applied on the skin wet and will take about 20 min or more to dry. You need to be careful to not touch or mess up the paste while it is drying. It is ideal to leave the paste on the skin for several hours to receive the best stain possible.
One the paste is dry it will begin to flake away, leaving behind a stain on the skin that is a bight orange color. It is important to not get the stain wet for the next 24 hours if possible. It takes about 24-48 hours to get to its darkest stain.

The henna tattoo can last up to 1-3 weeks on the skin depending on how well the client takes care of their skin before and after the paste is applied.

*It is important to not have any oils or lotion on skin before the henna is applied. It is also good to avoid pools and harsh chemicals on the skin after the henna has stained the skin for long lasting effect.
