I am an experienced, fun, practical and entertaining speaker and presenter able to leave audiences with concrete, memorable training, insights and practical next steps whether teaching motivational, leadership topics, biblical challenges or personal and family concepts. Where possible I also like to make my presentations uniquely engaging and interactive.

What to Expect
First and foremost I'm committed to communicating with the planners of each event. I know that they can't be successful unless they know just what to expect from me on every level and that I will respond promptly to their requests.
Second, you can count on me to do more than just show up. I will come early and stay through an entire event if at all possible so that I can talk with people who want to know more, have questions or just desire to say hello. I don't need a lot of extras but will let you know what will help me to be as successful as possible and to be sure that you have a home run event.
Third, I will work with each planner or leader to tailor a talk that can best meet the needs and interests of their audience. If you are asking for something I can't give I won't accept the invitation just to get another gig. As I said earlier I want you to be successful!
I've been speaking before a variety of audiences of all sizes - classrooms, churches, conferences, workshops, etc. - for nearly forty years. I've also written two books on parenting and marriage (currently available on (link hidden)) and currently write two blogs. I love to communicate and to do it in ways that people remember what they've heard and leave differently in some way than when they came.
I've recently become certified as a coach and speaker with the John Maxwell Team, adding weekly to my skills, understanding of people and ability to communicate.
I've been both an educator and pastor and currently serve part-time as a chaplain in the marketplace. I am passionate about people being changed, adding value to them and helping them to not only grow themselves but to impact others. I love to teach both the practical principles of leadership and relationships while also enjoy making the truths of the Bible come alive in everyday language. As a Baby Boomer, I realize that much of the leadership and training is done by people much younger than me. However, I have a heart to both help young leaders and to challenge other Boomers to not relegate themselves to the couch but to continue to help change the world by sharing their resources and skills with others younger than themselves.
I have been married to Jackie for over forty years, have two grown children and eight grandsons. I love my family and enjoy spending time with them. I also realize how much I've learned from them and so enjoy sharing those lessons with others. I have traveled to Russia sixteen times doing mission, church and worship work.
Years ago I became very passionate about the mountains and have hiked or climbed nine 14,000' peaks in Colorado along with peaks or trails in Alaska, Yosemite, Switzerland, Austria and Canada. I use mountain illustrations in many of my talks especially those for people struggling with their own personal mountains. My wife actually climbed a 14er when she had cancer (unknown at the time) and we have used that experience often to share how she made it over her cancer mountain.
I am thankful to be healthy enough to continue to share what I've learned through a variety of experiences with audiences and groups around the country.
Additional Booking Notes
I usually only need a headset microphone, Power Point projector depending upon the talk, simple podium, water to drink and a clear time guideline.
