What to Expect
An evening of Song and Storytelling reliving the Jewish passage through history from biblical times to the present. Music includes ancient biblical chants and rhythms winding their way through the dance and diaspora of the Near East, North Africa and into Spain with the rich tradition of the Sephardi Jews singing songs in the beautiful Ladino language - continuing on through Eastern Europe and the sometimes sad, sometimes joyous songs of the Yiddish language winding towards the two rivers leading to Yiddish Theater and Broadway on the one hand, and the Zionist Hebrew songs of the birth of Israel on the other.
Join Grammy nominated musician and storyteller: Michael Moses

Credits include 12 cds recorded with new age artist Peter Kater, Composer of Harmonia Mundi for the Dalai Lama's Nobel Peace Prize celebration, and soundtracks for PBS and the Discovery Channel.

Influences & Inspiration
My strongest influences have been the songs and melodies heard at family gatherings...
My mother's voice, my father's accordion playing, the poetry of Bob Dylan - and the realization that Jews are not limited to the small towns of Poland but rather encompass the great world and cultural influences of Ethiopian Drummers, Moroccan Chanters, Spanish Poets, and Pickle vendors on the Lower East Side in NYC. And let's not forget the great comics of the Borscht Belt.
Electrical power, Digital projector and screen (if requested), Lots of pure clean water.
