We are Freedom Machine and this is a little about us, Courtenay and Mike!

Courtenay
My name is Courtenay Terrell, I was raised in the Bay Area and I’m a true hippie girl in love with the sun, sand and people of Californian life. At the age of 12, I began my career as a Model and this has continued since. At eighteen my love of music had me singing in bands in New York. Heady stuff for a California girl!
Learning is a passion of mine, so along the way I have studied business management at Pace University and Patisserie at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. I’ve dedicated myself to rise in the ranks everywhere I’ve worked, be it as a Runway Model, a restaurant server, a Pastry Chef or a Singer.
Now, my life in fashion and food are taking second place to my dream of making music.
Most of us talk about our influences, for me it is just so much more. This has become my lifestyle!
Just as the hippy way believes in love and love translates to knowledge, I could as easily talk to you about the perfect soar of Whitney’s voice, the beauty of Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway’ or the smooth rumble of Sabbath. A life lived in music enjoys such verity; there is Jazz and great voice’s. There is Aretha Franklin and Etta James, two powerful women doing what they loved and that is a lesson right there! And I am learning all their lessons as I love to belt it out and use my natural stage presence to my advantage, just as they did.
My goal is to help people heal through music, the way other musicians and artists have helped heal me. I continue to perfect my craft as a singer-songwriter and my way of paying-it-forward is to offer encouragement, hope and an ideal to strive for. Using music as my motivation and compassion as my guide, I will make my dream come true. Music is the one thing that engages the whole mind, body and spirit, the makings of a perfect healer.

Mike
My name is Michael Elliott and I am from Honey Brook, PA. I have been in love with music every since I can remember. I began playing drums at the age of 6 and eventually expanded my musical abilities to studying the guitar and piano. I have always had music around me, in my family, in my head and in my soul. My goal in this life is to bring together all the nuances that each instrument brings to compose songs that resonate with each and every person in the audience. I hope to have the opportunity to bless you with the peace that music has blessed me with.
