Hi, I'm Frances Drost - a singer/songwriter and concert artist who takes years of life experiences and distills them into “three minute messages” of lyric and melody, interwoven with story-telling in between. I love to create meaningful experiences for your group - from retreats, tea parties, house concerts, women's conferences to churches. I am comfortable in front of a small group gathered for tea or large events with thousands of people.

What to Expect
If you are looking for sheer entertainment or lots of fluff, I'm probably not your gal. But if you want your attendees to laugh, cry, enjoy great music and stories and walk away feeling refreshed and inspired, that's right up my alley and I can deliver! Since I'm a singer/songwriter, I usually do my own songs with a couple of familiar tunes mixed in.
I can keep it simple with just piano, guitar and vocals. Depending on the distance, I can also bring a small band with guitar, bass and drums. Most of the time, I use a piano, my guitar, sound tracks for a fuller sound along with pictures that enhance the stories behind the songs and a music video or two.
I love to tailor my concerts to match your theme or crowd without sacrificing who I am as an artist.
If you invite me to lead worship at a Christian conference, church or retreat, I use songs that fit your audience best and work hard to make sure the song choices are appropriate for your theme and are familiar to your group. I use the Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) list of the top 100 songs sung in churches as my starting point, with your specific requests as a consideration.
It's always my goal to make sure that you hear nothing but rave reviews about the music provided at your event.
Frances Drost is a concert artist and inspirational speaker who began her own company, “Musical Creations” as a way to encourage people on their journey through life. Take years of life experiences distilled into “three minute messages” of lyric and melody, interwoven with story-telling in between and you get the unique artistry of singer/songwriter Frances Drost.
As both a singer and songwriter, Frances has a unique way of presenting real-life experiences and meaningful messages that are subtly woven throughout her music. In fact, it has been said, “Be careful about inviting Frances to your home; she may write a song about you.”
Since we don’t really seem to go to each other’s homes these days, you could now say, “Be careful about commenting on Frances’ Facebook page – she may write a song using your comment.” Either way, she finds a way to write music to encourage her audiences using real-life experiences.
Having served for a total of over 15 years on staff as the Director of Worship at various churches, Frances brings that experience into her worship leading at conferences and churches. As a worship leader, she has shared many platforms with well known author and Women of Faith speaker, Carol Kent. She has also shared the stage with Kay Arthur, Dee Brestin, Ruth Graham, Margaret Feinberg, Bonnie Keen and Ellie Lofaro. Frances has also been featured as a guest on the Chris Fabry Live Radio Show.
Frances is also a songwriter for Songs Of Love – a nonprofit organization that connects songwriters with terminally ill children. She has composed and recorded hundreds of songs for the families with their child as the star of the song.
Frances has 8 CD projects and several singles available for purchase both on this website and many other sites such as iTunes, CD Baby, etc.
“Portraits Of White” is her most recent Christmas/Winter release. A beautiful wintery mix of familiar carols and new tunes, instrumentals and vocals, you’ll enjoy the sounds of Christmas on this project.
“Portraits of White” has turned into more than just a CD project; it is now a beautiful piano/orchestral winter concert that “sold out” on its debut in 2014, filled a venue almost twice the size in 2015 and brought an even bigger crowd of over 900 people on December 10, 2016 with an even more exciting concert. People are calling it “the highlight of their holiday”.
Frances just finished a new project in December, 2016, titled “Brand New Me”. It’s an audio-journal of the work God has been doing in her life in the past decade and challenges audiences to believe that God can still change a heart and make you into a new creation.
Frances was the also the winner of the 2009 Momentum Award for “Female Artist Of The Year” and was also nominated for “Inspirational Artist Of The Year” at the 2009 Momentum Awards ceremony in Nashville, TN.
Additional Booking Notes
I am very flexible when it comes to lighting, staging and sound because I am used to performing in all kinds of venues from poorly lit coffee houses to concert halls. If possible, I like to have a baby grand piano (tuned the day of the show) but will be content with an 88 weighted keyboard if it's not possible to have a baby grand. I also need 2 audio technica wireless microphones on boom stands. If I bring a guitar, I need a direct box.
I like to use visual images and videos to add variety to my concerts so I either need an input from the stage so I can use my laptop with video and audio hook up, or a sound tech who is willing to run it from the sound board. Access to a projector and screen helps make the program more engaging.
Specific needs that apply to your particular event can be discussed before a contract is signed.
I always try to work with whatever you have and deliver a professional program in whatever venue you have available.
Since I'm a singer/songwriter, I typically do my own songs. "Brand New Me" is my latest album and many of these songs are taken from that project.
